Hide and Seek: Infinitron Style ((open RP))
Ashely was sitting upon a rooftop in Steel Canyon, listening for any psychic activity around the area that stood out. After several hours of listening, she gave up- and instead, began to use the Eye Sight of the birds around the area.
Moments later, she was teleporting after a van- racing after the van as is sped away from her. "Hold up damn it!" As the vans reached the parking lot she took a long breath, going straight for the van on right she put her hand on the door...
As she opened the van, she cringed at the sight of the piled high C4. There was 3 short beeps, then a party popper went off and a small plaque sprang up from the middle.
On it, it read:
"Thanks for playing along. Unfortunately you picked wrong, so no cookies".
The doors on the left hand van sprang open, and inside was David Tonns, suspended in what appeared to be a stasis field. He appeared completely unharmed. Next to the stasis chamber was a large panel with a clearly labeled on/off switch.
A quick run to Independence port, Soaring Horizon had dodge along the Metro lines nimbly keeping her feet away from the electric cable while vaulting the carts. She even managed a long jump to change over to the Green Line, attracting a few disbelieving looks from the people walking below.
A brown van would stick out luckily, although this seemed so strange. More one of that demon's Mechano's tricks than any rational person. Still, it's an odd colour for a van and eventually she spotted one circling the north end of the area dodging through traffic and not really going anywhere. She waited for it to pass near the metro track before landing on the bonnet, sword stabbing through the thin metal and right into the engine block. Holding on in case it came to a violent stop Horizon looked through the windscreen.
Ashley looked a little shocked, but relieved as she walked to the other van- flicking the switch labeled on/off.
"Thank God, I think I saw my life flash before me there.."
In Independence Port, the Brown Van rolled to a stop. Down the street another brown van could be seen screeching off into the distance. As Horizon looked through the windshield, all she saw was a shuttle PC, hooked upto a small generator, into the dashboard and into a GPS unit.
Damn! Should have seen that coming, well no time to check.
Pulling a book out of a concealed backpack below her cape, she fluttered through the pages quickly, cutting a intricate symbol into the vans wind shield and then chanting quickly from a she'd come to a stop at. After about thirty seconds the symbol glowed and the whole van shimmered intangibly with a yellow light. The hasty ward had put it slightly out of phase with the world for now, meaning if it did explode no one was going to get hurt at least.
The other van had a head start, but it had to navigate traffic a lot more carefully. Taking off at high speed Horizon flitted between cars, coming up behind the second run away van and pulling alongside the driver window. She took out the glass with her sword and then reached in to grab at the laptop, her own innate ability to scramble electronics hopefully killing the PC driving the thing.
The van spluttered and rolled to a stop, bumping gently into the building infront of it as it rolled off the road.
((Open the van to find a similar scene to the previous van. You can chose whether this or the last was the one with the explosives.))
"Back away please, this could be dangerous" Horizon yells at the rubbernecking crowd that is quickly forming.
Sadly a man in a buisness suit ran out of the crowd to open the door, yelling about how irresponsible Heroes were these days. Leaning round the edge of the door with one eye half closed in fear of what she'll see, Horizon lets out a sigh of relief when she sees the stasis field with the young girl trapped inside.
"Please back away, I'm the one with the sword here. If you want to help go grab a pair of tights first." then pressing on the communicator in her ear, magically protected from her own special technophobia, she starts to call out on the UV channel for a bomb specialist.
That... was lucky.
You have to wonder what goes through the head of a man that resorts to teleporting on top of the cab of a moving van and knocking on the windscreen in order to get it to stop. Which was exactly what Richie Stacker, the Crazy Dragon was up to right now with a black van as it sped though the streets of Kings Row, much to Molly Longstaff's irritation. Quite possibly to some of the Unity Vigil's too.
"Oi!" Richie barked as he hammered away at the windscreen while at the same time clinging on as best as he could. "Slam your anchors, will you?"
The driver, if there was one, did exactly as Richie commanded, sending the vehicle skidding to a halt as soon as possible. Richie, unfortunately for him, found himself catapulted from the cab as brakes were applied, landing rather unceremoniously next to an armed and quite possibly dangerous Molly.
"Richie," Molly uttered as she kept her pink rifle fixed on the driver's side of the windscreen. "Could you -not- pull that kinda stunt ever again? That was pretty scary. And stupid."
"I stopped it, didn't I?" Richie grunted as he hauled himself to his feet.
"Yeah, but still..."
"But still nowt. Just make sure Bullit here doesn't pull a fast one while I go see what's behind door number one, alright?"
"Fine, just be careful."
Richie then staggered over to the back of the van, taking a brief moment to give his current backache chance to go away, before reaching for one the handle.
"And our survey says..."
Sam: "My mind is a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas."
Max: "Me too."
Stuff
((Ding! Top answer!))
As the door opened, the stasis field became apparent, with the suspended child, Lisa Bryant, completely unharmed.
A block over, the sudden sound of screeching tires could be heard.
Meanwhile, up on Spacestation Reliance...
Comsbot walked carefully backwards into the pod built into the wall of the control center of the station before the pods door shut down around it and locked in place. Within moments the A.I Coms was transfered back into the stations computer mainframe as Sean walked into the room.
"Coms.. results please." Sean called out walking over to the control desk.
"Standby... results are that so far the twelve vans have been spotted in the city areas of Talos, Steel canyon, Skyway, Atlas park, Kings row and Independent Port." Coms voice called out as the screen ahead of Sean changed to that of a road plan of the city and it's areas with blinking dots to show the locations of each van.
"Very well.. Have they been stopped as yet? any chance of showing me which have the kids in them?" Sean asked tapping something into the keyboards infront of him.
"Standby.. Steel Cayons vans, both, have been stopped child van was not stopped via hero... Independent port vans have been stopped, hero found the child...Kings Row vans have been also stopped, Heores have the child.. other vans are yet to of been stopped Sean." Coms said giving a small pause between each location of the vans.
"Great.. six vans stopped, halfway there at least.. anything to help them down there should make a difference.. if thats possible." Sean muttered tapping away on the keyboards again.

((Go get 'em, feel free to hunt down in your own fashion, e it precognition, psychic powers, superspeed, flight, whatever, but I ask only you stop at the point just before opening you're chosen vehicle for me to advise as to what you will find inside.))
((secondary note: Vans are moving around the zone. When encountering a hero they will speed up and both vans will converge in a predesignated parking lot. There will be no noise of the children 'crying for help' from the vans. There will be little psychic activity of any 'panic' from them either - so will be hard to single them out. There will be no 'ticking' or auditory evidence from the explosives either.))
