Dark/Rad/Psy - yay or nay?
Irradiate is missing defense debuff slot, properly slotted the debuff is massive. Slotting for damage isnt worth it.
Well... It does -37.5% def base. And I have 2 other -def AoEs to stack with it so I doubt it actually needs any Def Debuff enhancements.
Anyway, if I were to slot it with Def DeBuff I'd probably throw a couple of damage procs in it too.
How'd you slot it for decent set bonuses / Def DeBuff (and decent damage) in mind?

I've got a Dark/Rad sitting at about L30; it's a decent alt.
the only bad things to say about it are:
Damage is OK but not great
From a positional standpoint it can be a bit annoying.
Fearsome stear is a cone so you need to be in front of the mob and Irradiate is centered around you so you have to be in the middle of the mob. They're 2 of the best powers and have quite a short recharge so you find yourself continually moving in and out of melee - not the end of the world but as I said a bit annoying.
In regards to your build I'd try to squeeze in Recall Friend. You've got a team rez (Howling Twilight)so the ability to gather fallen allies to you can save a team wipe.
L50s: Tanks: Cryofission - Ice/EM - Dr Celsius - Fire/Ice - Saint George - SD/SS | Controllers: Psichosis - Ill/Kin - Major Chaos - Ill/Stm | Scrappers - Neutron Crusader - DM/SR
Currently Levelling: Angelic Blade - BS/WP Scrapper | Seeds of Destruction - Plant/Kin Controller
on my sonic/rad i´m going for 5 analyze weakness and a achilles

Didnt really expect great damage. I got 2 lvl 50 defenders and neither of them does "great" damage.

I dont mind this really. On most of my alts with ranged and melee attacks I do this anyway, standing still isnt the way I fight unless I'm playing a scrapper or a tank.

Would have to drop a power pool for that which I dont think will happen. Besides, I'm most probably using HT as a stun to start a fight with. So nah, they'll have to learn to stick close to me for heals if they want to stay alive. I'm not a healer anyway.

Mmmm... But I can reliably get all the enemies into -60% def (Irradiate, Haze, Bomb) so I think I'll stick to damage and achilles proc.

Sounds like you're good to go then; have fun.

I've always wanted to try Dark Miasma and Rad Blast. I toyed with Mid's and noticed these two sets go together quite well with Rad Blast plugging the -def hole of Dark Miasma.
Also the control options of this combination look really nice. A lot of -ToHit to keep NPCs from hitting my team, Fear + KB cones to keep the enemy cowering in fear or on their backsides and Tar Patch to keep them away from melee, preferably in a corner to abuse KB and also -Res for more damage.
Also I think I should be quite safe in melee to use Irradiate with all the protection Dark offers me.
I picked Psy Mastery for 2 reasons, Dominate (works as a decent attack with hold) and Mind Over Body which just looks cool
Anyways, am I completely mislead or is this powerset combo actually as good as I think?
EDIT: Think I should add, Howling Twilight is slotted as a mez. I like to think of it with a stun/-regen power with the added side effect of rezzing nearby teammates
Here's the build I'm thinking of;
