Should I drop divine avalanche?

I have been pondering this, as I have put together an eventual build that caps defence to all positions on my katana/ninjitsu stalker (melee, ranged and AoE) and I thought that it might be worth swapping out divine avalanche for flashing steel.

Flashing steel animates fairly fast, recharges fast, has a wide arc and with the range increase to melee should hit quite a few people and give me some useful AoE, supported by crits in teams.

I can't think of a reason to keep divine avalanche with already capped positional defences, but I have a nagging reluctance to let it go.

Opinions/thoughts would be welcomed (proposed build data chunk below):

You dont need Divine Avalanche if you're at def soft cap. At this stage basically all it offers is a bad/mediocre single target attack.

EDIT: looking at the build I'd tell you to drop Retsu too. I'd keep Shadow Meld for extreme cases of def debuff because it recharges fast and doesnt have an end crash.

Lol yea that makes sense, shadowmeld takes 45seconds to recharge and lasts for about 15seconds. DA will recharge between each attack, when you're being hit with a defense debuff shadowmeld is only giving you 20% defense.

I tend to prefer keeping DA, so when something does have more tohit (like nemesis will after vengance) you'll have enough extra defense whether it be against melee or smashing/lethal to protect yourself. I'm still leveling my stalker so its below the defense softcap, stacked twice my melee defense goes from 30.1% to roughly 90%. Yes it is mediocre damage, but its not intended to be damaging.
