There was one time where the developers answered questions posed on an IRC channel. This was back when Emmert was on the team. Because of the number of people there, they had one channel where they could talk, and another muted channel where they could listen to the question and answer session. They've since abandoned that in favour of podcasts and such.

I actually run a small private IRC server for some CoH friends. We do a bit of roleplaying on there, but mostly it's just somewhere to chatter.

I've been on irc.slashnet.org for coming on 10 years now, so IRC would get a thumbs up from me. Though I run an old version of mIRC (Which doesn't allow multiple servers on one instance) and I'm too stubborn to upgrade, so unless it was on that server, I wouldn't join in

Well, seeing as I run it from my home PC, it's generally private, sorry. I don't like to give the IP address and password out publicly because, well, it's my home PC. Giving out the IP address to people I don't know is generally not a bright idea. You just never know who could end up with it, y'know?

Could always use some public irc server. like the stratics network or whatever.
Stratics used to have a cityofheroes channel which i was moderating for a year, but not been there for 3 years now, so it's prob dead. They also had some moderator bots and stuff you could get in if you registered channel (was free).
I googled for irc channels relating to CoH and the ones i joined were dead or no longer existing. I could probably get a channel up and running on the current server i use for tOR and SGW, but i don't want to go through the trouble of setting it up if noone is going to use it

Does anyone actually know if an irc channel or server exists for CoH?
I personally use IRC alot for other things and I think it'll be nice for us to have one as a community.

I am on one currently that has had Developer chats with the team doing Stargate Worlds and we're hoping to get The Old Republic team to do a few too.
Maybe some talk from Rednames or City Dev's wouldn't go amiss
