Just got a new big computer and.. my game keeps crashing after a few hours of play and I get a nvlddmkm error.
I have tried searching around, but had no luck finding a fix for it.

system specs:
Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core 2Quad Q9550
8GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT

all drivers are up-to-date

Try rolling back your drivers a version or 2

Hmm.. having no luck in finding a lower driver.. Nvidia only seem to have the newest.

Gonna have to check Download.com for one

Edit:
yay i am in luck. Now all I gotta do is test it. -_-

try this...

disabled visual themes ( that means everything from mouse pointer shadows to window animations)

disables desktop composition ( revert your desktop to windows classic view )

Try that out and let me know.

There is no solution to this problem. Any that people manage to find tends to be unique to their situation, especially since the error is not specific, it could be literally anything doing it.

nVidia and Microsoft know about this, but haven't done anything to discover if it's the drivers or Windows and how to deal with it, because they're too busy screaming that it's the other sides fault.

This is an error i get every now and then. I used to get it much more often, but here's what i did to lessen it.

1: Get the window vista hotfix, doesn't fix it, but makes it happen much less.
2: try diffrent drivers, this is a lengthy process, i installed one driver, played for a week, then got another version, played for a week, if i crashed more of less i either stuck with it or went back to old one.

3: when you crash, reboot. don't restart coh or anything, just reboot on the spot. I cannot explain it, but it's totally random. Sometimes i can play for days without a single crash. Reboot comp, and then suddenly crash within 15 mins, reboot again and it's crash free for days until i reboot again. Usually seems best when i actually shut off the comp, then start it up.
