"It's twelve o'clock on Friday November 27th. Welcome to PNN news, with me, Richard Hall."

"And me, Maggie Fletcher."

"The breaking story this hour, an explosion has rocked the downtown area of Kings Row. Details are sketchy at the moment, but initial reports are suggesting that the Eric Mitchell Memorial building, home to both The Hyperion Watchmen and The Militia groups has been severely damaged. Maggie?"

"Thanks Richard. Emergency crews are currently on the scene, and we're hoping to have the first pictures from the location soon, but several casualties have already been confirmed and we know that neighbouring buildings have been caught in the blast. Whether this was an accident, a terrorist attack or some form of metahuman incident has yet to be confirmed. You can be sure that we'll bring you more information as we get it. Richard?"

"Thanks Maggie. Meanwhile in other news..."

((The events leading up to and including this explosion in King's Row can be followed on The Militia forum in the various RP threads titled "Resurrection"! ))

“Well it was going to happen at some point, that’s what I say! Yes, that’s right folks, I’m going to say it loud and proud, the metas are finally turning on themselves. I mean, come on, how long was it going to be before one of them finally turned rogue and started blowing up their own kind? All I can say is, I’m glad they did this in their own damned clinic and not in some regular hospital for regular people! Keep it to yourselves guys, we ordinary folks suffer enough as it is. We let these folks roam around spewing fire and radiation and god knows what and we’re the ones who have to pick up the pieces. All those fire crews and PPD units in Kings at the moment, who do you think pays for them all? That’s right bucko, you and me, Joe Public.

It’s all well and good having some clinic for those with out of control powers but did they ever stop to consider that maybe their public relations exercise was less important than making sure that some kid with nuclear powers was kept off the streets? Of course not! This clinic was all about giving the Militia and the Hyperion Watchmen a good rap with the public, cleaning up the streets and helping the homeless and all that. And now guess what, they got what they deserved, one of their own has finally gone BOOM on them. And the irony of this all happening only a few weeks after these Pure Tomorrow flyers started whizzing around is just icing on the cake. We normal humans have had enough, it’s time to start taking your fight elsewhere guys and keep us out of the firing line…”
