Presence Pool.
You can play in a way not to need extra mickey mouse taunts I think. If you were Granite its alright, but I don't think the dynamics in teams need to be so dire they're needed but I do see timing and placement of other peoples powers as detrimental to how well a tanker can operate though. I can't see how and when you become less effective without. People should play to each others strengths where possible not force each other into power picks imo.

Yeah, extra taunts are good if you have the -recharge of granite, but 6 slotting you default taunt for duration and recharge is better otherwise.
I really should do something about this signature.
I have Provoke on my Stone Tanker and find it works ok. It gives me something to hit when Taunt is recharging. Now I'm just trying to decide whether I want to experiment with taking Intimidate and Invoke Panic as well.

IMO you could probably find something far more useful then provoke, I assure you there's something. It's far more sensible to have recharge slotted. Taunt and Provoke have the same accuracy and recharge time yea, but Provoke has a base duration that is 1/3 of taunt, Ignoring your primary set.
Intimidate...30sec recharge, 10.4sec duration. You're more likely to use a epic power to control a single target instead.
Invoke panic 22.8 endurance, 60sec recharge and 10.4sec duration with a magnitude of 2. Most groups will be using alot of AoE by the time you can get this power. It would be extremely rare that you find it useful.
Probably would benefit that bit more from taking the stone epic set for the foe defense debuff.
I've had a couple of tankers who have dipped into the presence pool in order to fulfil their role more effectively.
I'm wondering about the benefits of Challenge and Provoke as taunt powers.
Provoke hits multiple enemies ( 5 IIRC ). Challenge has a super-fast taunt time but only allows you to hit one at a time.
On my WP tank I picked up Challenge because I figured that my aura will taunt most of the enemies, taunt for a second group and then whatever else I pick will be for stragglers.
What do people think?
