Vista - CoX - Logitech MX Revolution Prob

Hi...

I was running CoX absolutely fine on my old XP PC, using a Logitech MX Revolution mouse that i had the various buttons programmed to do various ingame stuff including jump/target next enemy etc. This all still works ive checked this morning.

Got a new VISTA PC, installed CoX, installed same mouse software. The mouse is totally Vista compatible i know this as i play another MMO and use the mouse buttons to jump/target next enemy etc in that game.

When i load up CoX on the Vista PC, i cannot jump or target using the mouse buttons. Ive treble checked and the key/mouse button mappings in the game on both PC's are the same, and the mouse software button settings are exactly the same too.

so in a nutshell:

XP + MX Revolution + CoX = No Problems
XP + MX Revolution + Another MMO = No Problems
Vista + MX Revolution + Another MMO = No Problems
Vista + MX Revolution + CoX = cant use mouse buttons in game

any ideas please...

Ouch, I had similar problem but found out that needed to set my mouse buttons (4 and 5) in the Logitech settings as "generic buttons", which worked for buttons 4 and 5 but not for the wheel button... not sure it will help you though

ive scoured the net and found something which mentions what you are referring to and i dont think it will help me

mouse button 6 (rear thumb button) is the one i use in both games for jump, in the mouse software i have SPACE assigned to this, and in both games space = jump, therefore either hitting my space bar on the keyboard or mouse button 6 makes all my chars jump. Only it doesnt Jump using the Vista PC playing CoX.

The mouse wheel on the MX revolution has 4 seperate functions so im really lost without being able to use them - the mouse however will zoom in and out using the scroll wheel, but the ability to press it/click it left/click it right does nothing even though they are programmed to "do stuff"

Just something small to try but set the mouse software to run as Administrator. Then try a restart.

I had the same problem, but with all games (Same OS, same mouse). If you haven't already done that, disable User accout Control. This solved my problem (in fact, it solved all problems I had with Vista). But as I said, my "custom" buttons were not working on any game.

I also had UAC throwing up all sorts of problems with CoX, my Logitech MX 700 and Hero Stats when I swapped over to Vista.

I have got it all working fine now when I run everything in adminÂ’ mode, but still with UAC turned on. (When I was trying to source the problem it all also worked fine with UAC off, hence I opted for running as adminÂ’.)
