Nvidia 177.79 Drivers and the 8800GT
[ QUOTE ]
Have you guys tried reading the Nvidia forums? People there seem satisfied the crash problems are pretty much cured, being caused by a mixture of improper voltage settings, RAM timings, and clean power supplies...

If that is the case then I wouldn't even know where to start to (a) find which particular issue may be affecting my setup (b) fix it.
Do you have any thoughts/advice for us FFM on how we might be able to check/fix this?
So what's the version we should install, FFM? I've been out on holiday a whole month and now I'm back I've been able to play regularly both Friday and Saturday, but my old blue screen loop nv4_disp screen came back again along the Sunday afternoon, about 4-5 times.
I'm running Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9300, 2,50 GHz, 2 GB RAM, XP Professional SP 3, and, if I'm not mistaken, after several changes of drivers, the 175.19 ones. And my pc was bought in May, btw.

Well, the first step would be to test your RAM with something like Memtest. If it runs through that without errors, then it's time to do some research and find the best timings for your brand. Same goes for the CPU. A lot of people are reporting minor increases in CPU voltage of about 0.1 volt, are helping with stability.
There are plenty of threads about it on the Nvidia forums, including suggested voltages and memory timings.
