Player rename facility

Hi everyone - here's my problem, I have a toon which i'm now playing regularly but dont like the name i've picked. I want to use the player rename facility even though i know it costs a rediculous £5.99 but whats bothering me is this:

I've been teaming a lot and doing quite well with this toon, made a few friends and am usually invited as soon as i log in. I asssume thats because these people are looking out for me to team with. Now, if i use the rename these people aren't going to know who i am - they arent going to recognise the name etc.... So its play a toon i dont like the name of or change the name and risk losing the inv's because no-one will know the new toon ?

Anyone else come across this ?

For what it's worth you'll stay in any friend lists (with the new, possibly unrecognised name), chat channels and SG you're already in.

If anyone has you on global friends they can quickly check that you still have the same global handle, and really are the same toon as before.

Other than that all I can suggest is warning as many people as you can ahead of time, then hoping word gets round quickly afterwards (if you can continue teaming via the people you tipped off, that should let you fill everyone else in).

You can always add that people you team regularly to your global friends list. So they will see you no matter what hero/villian you are on. So no problem.

For name, if it really bothers you just change it or you'll grow cold of that hero and left him or worst delete him.

Global friend option is the best if you ask me.

Thanks guys - thanks for the suggestions, think i'll send a tell to everyone (who i remember) who i've teamed with recently like you said.. other than that i can't think of anything else.

Perhaps i should stick a thread in suggestions that when you use the rename facility the system emails everyone on your friends and global list to inform them of the toon name change?

But you're right Knightly something as small as a name has seen me delete toons as high as 30 something before (pre name change facility) so if i dont get it done i know i'll start hating it..
