Are you talking colour maps or complete models?
Either way, you realise that you're putting a massive load on the GM staff who will have to vet every last design for content?

Re: vetting by NCNC, well to be honest I had not thought that far ahead as it was just a feature suggestion I dreamt up last night.
In theory I like the idea as there are clearly some great costume designers out there.

I've often wanted a save button on the tailor screen as a few of my charecters wear the same suit in diffrent colours and it can be a bit tiresome putting it together everytime. What you might end up with if this was a public is a database full of thousands of files no one could be bothered searching through probably named 1ron man,ir0n man,iron m4n etc etc. Perhaps a way round this would be a ranking out of 5 anyone can give to any outfit in the catalogue, if your suit averages below 2.5 say it's removed from the catalogue.
Oh and I though this was actually a suggestion for a washing machine, that Vaz vom is hell to get out of spandex you know.

Amateurs... rub it with rock salt, leave it for an hour and then brush it with a hard brush. After that, it's ready for washing.

It's a great idea, but you'd have to operate at a discount or face people previewing the designs, making notes, then rumbling off to Icon/Facemaker to make it themselves. The Internet - full of freetards.
Some folks really do have the touch at costume making. As an extension you could make a costume for a target player (limited by the body type), present it to them, and pass it along as a trade. Representing a custom job, maybe.
Hmm. To further Sir_Helm's point, perhaps run it so that if you choose a design from the catalogue it cost half what it would from icon themselves - since you're not choosing your own layout.

I misunderstood. You are proposing to be able to put extra things in the 'sets' drop down. Well, yes, I guess that's fine. I remove my objection.
I guess it's an okay feature though, personally, the appeal of the costume designer is to spend ages flicking through options and finding one I like for that specific character. The 'set' feature has remained unused after I tried it once and isn't going to suddenly start getting used.

Who doesn't love the costume creator in this game, and I've seen some fantastic creations running around Paragon City.
I propose that Icon start a small freelance operation, allowing our designs to be sold throughout Paragon City.
Offline or online, a screen where we can design cossies and file them away in folders to be uploaded to an Icon database.
Popping into Icon there could be a freelance contact with a portfolio on the desk that we could click on.
Clicking on thus would bring up a Wentworths style listing section with the contributors global name and an option to view by catagories such as Military, Dark Antihero, Mystic etc along with a front/back/sideview or rotating animatic of the costume.
You buy the costume and the Influence goes to you and a small fee to Icon for the listing.
