Unity Vigil's Independance Day Event
Leo attended the event and he brought Helen (a co-worker at the Days Inn) with him. Early into the celebrations, they bumped into Ryan and a friend. Introductions were made, Helen became a touch star struck and managed to stammer a hello to Ryan. To which Leo could only roll his eyes and lead Helen away from all the excitement.

The Unity Vigil are hosting a celebration to the 232nd aniversery of secession from the British at Unity Plaza, from 6pm ICly tonight. While the event won't be taking place in game and isn't planned to be an open RP event, feel free to add anything pertinent to the thread and have your character attend.
The Location
The event will be happening at Unity Plaza, which is part of the land owned by the Unity Vigil in the Astral District of Skyway City, flanked by Unity Tower and Vigilance Tower. In the centre of the park between the towers, surrounded by road, will be a large dish with a fire on, and specially set up fireworks launchers. The road in to Unity Plaza has been blocked off, though parking is available in underground garages and nearby the towers.
On the other side of the roads, in the courtyards of the towers, are various stands selling a variety of food, from hot dogs and cotton candy to various ethnic dishes. On the plinith running up to the third, tower that is not currently in use, is a stage for various performing acts including some local and US bands, providing music and entertainment.
Toilet facilitie consist of the toilets in the lobbies of Unity and Vigilance Tower, and stalls set up to the northern, western and eastern parts of the plaza.
The Event
Along with the bands performing are street artists and performers to bring entertainment to the crowds, and the event has been set up with a 'for everyone' vibe to it. Vigilants, the android and gynoid security forces of the groups, are on visible duty to provide security, and are on hand to provide first aid and break up disturbances. Those breaking the peace and being rude will be turned away, or detained depending on the severity of the issue.
Among those giving speeches are Zorielle 'Zortel' Rolando, leader of the Unity Vigil.

I am very pleased to welcome you all here today, to celebrate the two hundred and thirty second aniversery of our countries independance. Let us just remark on that for a moment. Two hundred and thirty two years. Look at all the changes our country has gone through in that time.
Social advances, political advances, technological advances. We've fought through superstition, through tradition and through persecution of race, class, creed, gender and sex. Some of those, we still fight to irradicate the blight of prejudice. But it is just that. We fight against what is wrong, in order to make our country a better place for us to live in, and our children to grow up in.
This is not just something for the heroes of the city, or the civil workers of the city to strive for. It is something we can all work towards, we can all contribute to. America is the melting pot of culture, of religion, of race, and as long as we all pitch in to keep that pot stirring, then our country is going to come out to be better than ever.
I, and we at the Unity Vigil, are determined to keep this happening. To work across all boarders of the spectrum to make Paragon, and make America, a better place to live in, to reduce crime and protect us all from whatever disaster may try to trip us up.
But it is not just bright costumes and crime fighting that can help. By helping to build a strong community, to strengthen ties and to give Paragon support, entertainment and hope, well, I truely believe that we can forge our path ahead well into the future to make our city the pride of America, and an example for all to follow.
They call Paragon the Birthplace of Tomorrow. Well everyone, we are all midwives, so let's encourage a push for change and for new beginings.
