Question about Traps/Poison Trap Slotting

I am trying to figure out if it will be worth slotting my Traps/Poison trap with proc IOs keeping in mind the I12 changes looming. Slotting it with the 2 Hold chance for psi damage proc IOs seems to be nice but

and here is the hard question: do these procs check every time the trap cloud pulses a hold chance OR does it proc every time the cloud actually LANDS a hold.

The reason this is important is because in I12 the chance to hold has been scaled down to once every second, where before it was 4 times every second. However the hold % has been upped a little.

So if the IO triggers every time a hold is tested for then it would be worth it still, but if it only triggers every time a hold actually lands then it might not be worth all that money.

Any ideas?

I only slotted calltrops once with the nrg damage PROC (believe from the slow set) wich afaik only triggers when you 'cast' it. (not as i expected every 'tick').

I was thinking the same, going for the psi damage proc. Perhaps you can ask also in Corrupter section, they might have it already slotted.

The only ( somewhat ) reliable proc effect takes place when the trap is sprung. There is a chance for additional damage afterwards, but it's going to be sporadic and isolated. Additional damage will be highly unreliable.

The initial effect is most effective with the help of a purple proc from the set "Unbreakable Constraint". That leaves only 3 slots, and recharge must take priority. 2 recharges, and one hold/recharge hybrid IO from whatever hold set is available is perhaps a temporary solution. 3 additional purples should give about 90% recharge, and 60% hold, if you only take purples with recharge from the set "Unbreakable Constraint".

Is it worth it? Well, as it stands now it will seriously hurt minions from some enemy groups from time to time. Not all enemy groups, not all the time, but it's definitely doing some hurt on the average.

( With the aforementioned two psionic procs already installed. For a total of 3 procs.)
