Just made an earth/elec dom (started of as earth spins but decided I wanted the -end of elec) and for me the worst part of making a dom is the lower lvls. But this 1 boy is it fun already. Can't wait to see what domination does to earthquake (love using earthquake on cot revenge is so sweet
) plus I get 2 pets 
Dom's are my favourite At in either game, the stopping power of a Controller with the punch of a weak blaster. Made a Fire/fire Dom on day one and he is still a joy to play.

its just that kinda AT i think. Either u love em or hate em.
as already said - hard to play cos of ur squishinest, but low damage output (comnpared to other ATs).
Have found the AT fun in teams or solo; but i must say, least appreciated 
I love AoE control so have picked plants and earth to play.
One good thing though, there seem to be more peeps trying doms out with I12 :d
Dominator must be the only set i haven't try'd to a decent level and I have created a Gravity / Ice Dom... Going really well so far, can't wait to stack PowerBoost and Domination with a Aoe Distortion field, and Icey slows...

I've always loved Dominators. I blame the fact that my first and only level 50 was a Brute, and Brutes are my favorite AT. Dominators are like Brutes who swap armor toggles for mez, keeping the amount of fun in the playstyle.
Highest I've gotten, sadly, was below 20 on a Grav/Nrg, who's deleted by now - I just can't come up with a concept that appeals to me! Lately I've become interested in creating a Fire/Fire Dominator... Possibly RP it as a member of the Hellions or something; I like creating villains that are/were members of existing factions.
Also, just about every imaginable name for a fire-themed character is taken by now, heh.
Still, much love towards Dominators.

how about this one - its a concept that I came up with ages ago, but then promised myself that I should stop picking fire as a power choice (that is after a fire blaster, fire tank, fire brute, fire troller... sigh and now they've come up with a fire scrapper - damn you Developers!!!!!! *shakes fist in air*)

for years, he was treated like a slave to a supposed "hero" of Paragon City. Summoned and dismissed on a whim. Sent to his death repeatedly. Wot was is abt Monkee One? no other fire imp had gained sentience, but HE did. What the trollers never new that it was and un-ending cycle of birth and ressurection for a fire imp. With the pain of each death as traumatic as the 1st one. It also builds resentment. Builds anger. Builds HATE. Murderous hate..... death by flames was all that ran through his head as he repeatedly bashed the charred head of this former Controller master off the piers of Inpendence Port. He was not content with control, he wanted DOMINATION!

Dominator is by far my favourite AT in this game, have 6 of them covering all the powerset choices, all in 34-50 range.
Deleted a number of them though also, when trying to find combinations that I liked.
While dominators are not that common I do see others in team regularly, although that typically is me + another dom.
As for rare ATs I think the Fortunata path of the Archnos Widows might be more rare, but this is also one that fits those that like doms quite well. Love my Fortunata also and that was my 3rd to hit 50 (two other were doms).

I had a fantasic moment on my domi last night while on LRSF. We all charged the Vindicators, and I hit Glacier, only to see all of them get incased in ice! It may have only been a few seconds, but to entrap all of them in one go and give the rest of the team a chance to pile in, that was just awesome!

Due to time and family contstraints I usually solo/duo my dom and as such I LOVE the mind set (excuse the pun). At lefvel 6 you have 3 control tools and that is all you need to solo very very well. The BIG downside to mind is that late game there is very little. You dont have any immobs or AE immobs which make you useful in a big group. Your signature power is an AE confuse which isnt so good for big groups since mobs tend to spread.
To me mind is the "enjoy the road to 50" kind of set, rather than the "aim for the big power at the end" kind of set
