first time CoH player cant find a AT he likes lol

hi im a CoV player at heart and i recently got my Brute to 50 i have since decided to go onto CoH but i cant find an AT that i like can anyone help ??

this would be better in Player Questions, but it depends what your after

Tanks and Scrappers combined (well a bit from Pool A a bit from Pool B) are basically a Brute,

If your looking for smt similar i suggest a /Invun or /WP Scrapper.

It all depends what your after, You really need to explain to us Hero Lovers, what sorta toons you like to play, then we can suggest a lot more and a lot better :P

Sry for posting in the wrong place but here it goes i have a lvl 50 Em/FA brute i like to be the Dmg Dealer on a team i also dont like tanking big mobs hence i dont have any taunt auras on my brute but im open to it on a tanker

Scrappers and Blasters are the main damage dealers in the game.

Tanks can deal damage, but there main job is to taunt.
But Scranker Builds (Tanks that act like Scrappers) do exist.

Controllers are my favourite Hero AT (Even Though i have more Fenders than any other ATs) are useful if u like to play in medium to big teams.

Fenders are Spam (De)Buff Bots. And 9/10 times need Teams to lvl.

Khelds are not my forte as i dont like them, but they can be useful, when there not shouting [censored] its a Q or Void KILLLLLLLL IT

was thinking of doing an illusion/Storm controller ive heard that they are quite gd

If what you want is to deal damge in melee, then roll a scrapper, Broad Sword for huge single dmg outburst, Claws for best DPS or spines for great AoE damage.
If you don't want taunting auras then I guess Invulnerability, Willpower and Dark Armor are out of the question (mmm although Dark Armor is not proper taunting aura but hey ho). Personally I'd go for a Dark Melee/Super Reflexes scrapper for good steady single target negative damage (less resisted ingame iirc) plus SR awesomeness with no taunting auras. Other fun options without taunting auras are Claws/SR, BS/Regen or Spines/Regen. If this time you want to give a go for scrapper aggro madness, I'd go Spines/WP, awesome.

If you want to be a damage dealer on the "glass cannon" side of things, then roll a blaster, all of them deal damage varying from great to good, but there are other players that can give you much better advice on blasters than me.

i got my ill/ss troller to 50 (with a lot of help) and i love her. the amount of stuff you can do to mess people up is great ^_^ pvp and pve its a good build (maybe not the best in the world but good!!)

ill/storm Trollers you going to have to be very pacient with. Its not a High DPS but its as annoying as heck (espically in PvP)

ill/storm is quite tricky to master, as you lack alot of hard lockdown methods and proper ways to set up containment. The loads of kb/repel powers in storm also dont help in that and if you cant control it, it can turn out real messy real fast.

From what i read i'd say a scrapper would more suit you:
-dmg dealer, check
-can take a beating like a brute, check
-doesnt NEED taunt, but CAN use it, check

I lvled both a DM/SR and BS/regen, though i must say i really loved my bs/regen over the dm/sr. Low lvls dm/sr was ace, but i found at higher levels it started to lack a bit.

BS/regen however was other way around, at lower lvls its pretty slow seeing you dont have rech SOs yet, but later on its a damage powerhouse. Not to mention in abundance of a tanker he seems to do pretty well in tanking duty as well.

Fire/SS will give you more damage.

Note that tanks play quiite differently to brutes. A taunt aura is obligatory, and many would argue that you cant tank without the taunt power from your secondary.

aye.. tanks are actually required to, well, tank in teams. So if you dont want all the aggro in a group, dont roll a tank
