'Lo all. I'm quite new to CoV, been spending the past few weeks messing around with an EM/SR Stalker, levelling, done a li'l bit of PvP, been learning the mechanics, strategies, playing around with the good, bad and ugly powers etc... She's now at Lv.30, and allthough I love the Stalker AT and EM primary I've decided to remake her in favour of more of the same, but with less 'messing around' this time around.

I've done a lot of reading up on Stalker guides and such, and I've decided to create an EM/Regen Stalker ultimately for high-level
PvP. I was hoping some of the pros out there would be kind enough to take a look at the plan for her below, and give me thier opinions on if it's a decent build, an okay build, or a terrible build that needs to be thrown away and never mentioned again. =P

The level placements of skills and slots in this build aren't really my concern, it's intended to be more of a destination than a journey plan. I understand that alot of the enhancements are probably going to cost me an astronomical amount of Inf, I'll worry about that when I come to it, I was really just looking to outline the best possible build for me to work towards.

I've tried to slot the abilities for set bonuses in an order of priority (Stealth, HP Max, HP Regen, Recovery, Accuracy, Damage, Everything else...) without gimping the abilities themselves or certian aspects of my character. I don't want to be a walking punch-bag, able to Regen lightning fast and not be able to kill anything, and I don't want to be able to deal out masses of damage but never be able to hit anything.

Being a Stalker I'm going to want to dish out the pain fast, but I don't want to be reliant on AS, if it misses, I don't want to have to leggit. It'd be nice to be able to stay in the fight and have a good ol' toe to toe... at least for a couple of seconds. x)

So... Not enough Damage? How am I going to handle status effects and holds? Accuracy Ok? Any suggestions, improvements and such are very, very, very welcome. Cheers!

Hey there, and welcome to CoV Em/Regen is really powerful now with sets, nearly impossible to kill without a team. Personally i would not go for regeneration and Mez resistance. I would go for recharge so you can stack Dull pain, or damage. Dull pain allow you to not bother with the +HP bonuses so its all ok. Also, you have IH and it can get a very nice and reasonable downtime with bonuses.The recovery bonus you have is not needed in my opinion except if you want to scrap with the stalker. The power pools that you should have (Again, in my opinion) are SJ/SS/Fitness/Stealth. Also, find a way to slot Phase shift with 2 or 3 Recharges. Its always useful at high level pvp.


Edit : Try to keep the Accuracy bonus you have if you plan to change the build, EM really needs it.

Thanks for the reply Zaldor. I'll definitely look into toning down the Regen in favour of some Recharge, I realised that none of the big buff abilities (Hasten, Dull Pain, Instant Healing) were going to be perma without some serious Recharge bonuses when I was making the build. So I guess that knocked it down a peg in my list of priorities.

The Phase Shift suggestion I'll definitely take on board. I do feel like I've neglected it somewhat.

The Mez protection bonuses I just threw in because I saw it as a bargain for the price of one slot, but if they're not going to make any difference I'll find another use for that slot. =)

I'm a bit torn between Teleport and SJ because of the supression / being held factor, and I like the idea of a TP Foe &gt; Total Focus Stun to catch runners, but I'll have a toy around!

(EDIT: I've just realised that my Mid's is bugged. One minute I have max HP and 1801% Regen with DP and IH. When I restart it and load up the same build I haven't. Weird. o.O)

I get what you mean. The good side of EM is that you can use in any way you wish. Teleport foe, kill works. While it does not with other sets. I do agree what if you are heavily debuffed and slowed teleport is the travel power. But because i dont like teleport, i use phase shift on these cases Plus if you get swift/hurdle/stamina and CJ/SJ, slot hurdle and CJ with 2 or 3 jump slots. Its worthy for unsupressed movement.

I used to prefer tp over sj on my em/regen too. There is no -tp power in game, so it is the best travel to run away when things get bhairy imo (and it's so quick to be used with the lshift+lclick bind)... besides tp foe+TF+epic hold works like a charm vs base campers and to pull off squishies from packed teams of heroes. Truth to be said, my slotting would be quite different to that, and I'd focus on +hp, rech and dmg sets.

I was thinking of dropping Fast Healing and MoG (That's only in there for the LOTG slotting anywway TBH, had space) for a Patron Hold power thingy too. Will probs do that now you've mentioned it.

I've messed around with that build a fair bit, it now has increased Recharge, Accuracy and Damage at the cost of a small amount of Regen and Recovery. Which is cool. =D

As a sort of side note was wondering what is concidered a *good* bonus from sets where Damage and Accuracy is concerned?

Since you will have perma dull pain and it caps ur hp bar, +hp is not needed, so i focused on recharge, accuracy and a bit of extra dmg. This is a quick build I've just made of how I'd slot my em/regen if I was to pvp with it these days. Note that I did say it's a quick build, so I may be forgetting something atm.

Nice build, didn't realise you could squeese so many bonuses out of the Patron Powers.

At the end of the day I know I'm going to enjoy playing an EM Stalker no matter what, not only is it a great class but it fits perfectly into my character concept. I'd just like to not mess this next character up.

So, I've made space for lots of + Recharge and I can now stack DP, am kicking out a shed load more Damage and Acc and only Regenerating a little less than my first build. Cheers!

Now I've got myself planned out, no more mistakes this time around. Now if I want this build I'd best be off to hit the grind... and make Inf... an isht load of Inf... a really, really, really... large amount of Inf....

Thanks a bunch for the advice y'both, who knows, you might even get a chance to regret it.

Just a quick note and i apologize if people already know this but Enhanced heal bonuses do not really do much for Regen.
Basically it will not work with any heal that has a resistance portion like Recon so the only power it would work on is Dullpain.
Just thought I'd mention it as not many people know.
