The night air felt unnaturally still, even in the bowels of the caverns which formed a circle of thorns stronghold deep beneath the city. The large cavern was unadorned and empty except for a circle of softly glowing gold and purple runes engraved into the stone floor, potent runes of sealing and binding magics of a high order.
Figured i'd see how the new content is working out.)
The glowing runes suddenly flared white and a thunderclap without sound split the still night air. An eldritch wind began to build in the chamber, circling faster and faster around the circle of runes until a funnel of grey and dust-filled air, like a miniature tornado, was focused on the space within the runes. Within the funnel a shape began to coalesce and rapidly took the form of a tall human-shaped figure.
At a gesture from the figure the swirling air flew outwards, a rippling circle of dust and small debris that pelted the walls of the chamber to reveal a slightly gaunt and haggard looking man dressed in a white hooded cloak with red markings. A single, croaky voice split the sudden silence of the chamber.
Well that was fun lets try and not do that again
Snapping the fingers of his right hand the runes set into the floor, which had faded back into invisibility, flashed into visibility once more and then began to sparkle and dissipate, leaving behind unblemished rock as the figure turned and began heading towards the surface.
