Taking it back to the streets.. New sg idea
March 3rd
The group almost split that night, some saying the kid was going to far... The orginal plan was to protect there own wile the supers were to busy with the invasions and looking after those who lived in nicer areas. Now this geek had this great idea.. but Casey couldnt help think it was for his own ends and his group were just being played..
The Geek kid stopped talking when the voices got raised, Not everybody in the room wanted to be part of a blood bath and not everybody wanted to face the giant robots that would follow the lack of heroes..
But ideas got chucked around like juggling balls and the plan was set in place.. WE would do what we always planned to do, and if the geek kid could work out how to jam or "play" with the teleport receivers then they might have a wild card if the supers came for them. As the kid said they would.. As nobel as our actions maybe, they will be seen as terroists
Casey was last to leave that meeting. Looking around his new hide out.
Was this what he wanted? Was this his big dream? OR had everything he wanted to stand for, wanted to acheive been washed aside by the blood lust of others? Had his words from the first night been forgotten so fast? Or simply drowned out by the battle crys?
Chipping the brickwork with his fists, he rememberd the promise he made his daughter when she asked where he was going.
"im going to change the world. make it safe for you" Her only reply "your the best daddy in the world"
But was this what he wanted?
((Hello all,
Need to clear something up first. Ok, I'm fine with whatever you want to call Mr Johnson, however just for the record he's not a "kid". Slim build, smartly dressed, not a young face
Ok so I suppose it's partly my fault for not putting up a bio, or correcting assumptions before now.
Anyway, he looks like he's in his late 20's / early 30's, and is/was a physicist, so most definitely not a college kid. However, all said and done, Im cool with anyone referring to him however they want. Youll just have to live with the consequences
Right, 'my' view of the events))
March 4th,
Yesterday I had a phone call from their 'leader', though that implies that they're organised. Now I'm beginning to question if that's really the case, or if they listen to the loudest voice they heard last. At first I was surprised at meeting them in a back alley, although now it makes more sense, but at least they heard me out.
They didn't like being out in the open too much, as if they felt scared of being found out ... do they really want to walk the thin line between law and order?
I started speaking, and unsurprisingly they responded with bluff and bravado. I wonder how long it will take for them to establish their alpha male? It wasn't too long before they felt the need to move on, (spooked by real or imagined threats?).
One of their members, a mutant called Rekkah, had established a crude base off a disused sewer section, an old maintenance room with suitable ventilation and an adequate power supply that wouldn't be 'noticed'.
I went on further to explain my suggestion of one way to make the 'supers' accountable for their actions. Naturally they focused on the worst possible outcome and stuck with it throughout. Quick to react, and probably quick to anger. All I did was suggest a possible course of action and they make me out to be some kind of global terrorist.
A veteran member of their group, Kinsey I think, seemed to be responding rationally to my suggestion. The rest of them got obsessed with the city being destroyed by rampaging giant robots ...
They want to clean up the city by getting rid of the gangs, but they'll act like a gang to do it. They want to get rid of the 'Supers' but don't want to live in a world without them.
This won't be easy, but I could achieve a lot with them.
We'll have to see how the game plays out.
((Kinsey calls everyone "kid", basing it on the fact that he's in his late 50's Looking back at my recap though I'm frightened to realise that I don't remember typing most of it....I woke up sat at the computer desk last night!
Just thought. Do any of you use MSN?
I would type up a recap, but I really can't see Jayce being the kind of guy who writes or talks about such illicit affairs.
And aye, I use MSN.
My recap is purely OOC anyway
Just thought MSN might be a good way to arrange meets in game etc
keep the re-cpas ooc if you want Jr just nice to get some feed back and see how everybody else saw the events
Ok people we need a roll call to see who's still a) Interested and b) Active.
I'm both so that's 1.
Hello,
Good question. Yes I'm interested and fairly active.
However I have a few 'conditions' with my play style. I've got all the character slots filled on Union and Defiant, and I tend to play about 75% of those characters. So I've never had a 'main' just current favourites, I don't stick to one character out of habit. Play time tends to be spread over 2-4 characters that interest me the most at any one time.
The other thing is RP in CoX is a fairly new experience for me. I like actually 'playing' the game, gaining xp and advancing characters. So I get a bit 'itchy' standing around chatting. It's fun and all, I'd just like to be doing something active whilst it's going on.
At the moment I'm leveling up my Fire/Storm controller on Union, I fancy trying my hand at farming in DA. My Ill/Rad controller on Defiant is also fun to play, and I want to get some IO slotting done on my Storm/Elec defender on Union. So I've got plenty of stuff that interests me going on.
I've enjoyed the RP sessions that I've been in so far, and I've got a few ideas of where I'd like to see Mr J going. It's just if I log on and it's a bit quiet I won't hang around for long.
Maybe a semi regular time or day would help?
Anyway, count me in, so that's 2.
I think we need a regular RP night too. As it stands it's very haphazard and random.
i am still interested , but only if we can agree a regular day and time slot ... my RL does not cope with random short notice sessions . . . ...
Yeah.. well..
im known for my love of the exp!
standing around chatting is all good. We needed to do that, but with out plots standing around chatting is going to get very dull very fast. Now we have a plan and a hide out.. time to start making a noise? so to speak.
i have the british snowboard championships in less than 20 days. so trying to ride a lot. MY life kinda fell apart too so trying to fix that.
Wednesdays seem to be the best for me.. and for god sake lets get some bloody exp!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well let's vote on a day.
Ideally I'd vote for Tuesday, but Wednesday's are fine.
We should start getting ourselves "noticed" by the criminal fraternity
wednesday is fine for me
Wednesday suits me.
My version of the re-cap...
The Lads had met for what was to be the 3rd meet, Gearing up a plan of action and taking note from an outsider with a rather sneaky way of getting one up on the supes' which is when one decided to show up, pearched over a ledge above us.. This is what we're against so...
Rekkah, a member of our little association, Had provided a suitable location under the city in the sewer lines, To much avail the new place was spot on, hidden, self sustaining for electricity, in my opinion perfect for our operation.
Now in the complete awe struck that the lads were, we finally got to business, away from unwanted attention, The 'brain' had an idea; to tap into the heroes medical network and override it giving us all the power.
Hammer, didn't know this new character so immdiatly assumed he might pull a fast one on the new group, Assuming the worst and a bit of shout we managed to agree on a set solution, original plan but if we're threatened fight fire with fire.
Okay, wrote out a nice reply, thenj the boards freaked and left me with nothing.
Basically, had stuff to deal with recently and RL comes first, hence sporadic in-game times of late.
A regular day of the week is a good plan, and Wednesday works great for me.
Recaps I'm not so good with, usually they're merely a sarcastic proclamation of my general annoyance at the foolish events of the day (and even those are rare these days since I tend to avoid the GG scene a lot more than I used to, was proving bad for my health)
Anyways... that's my opinion, take it or leave it, and now, I'll say g'bye
Aye, Wednesday works fine for me aswell.
Wednesdays it is. Now we need to collect missions
well if Mike dont mind, i Say give him the star..
Raise his rep up so we get good exp and worth wile fights and let mike place the missions into his own style and game plan?
Lets face it out of all of them.. the geek is going to have the info, all casey had was a guy on the inside who liked what they were doing and got them medi-chips and walkie talkies.
oh and past him on to another person who sent them off to rescue that dude..
Well Kinsey's just a nigh geriatric gunman
And Jayce is a street-smart-father-of-two-vigilante-Sushi-Chef.
Hmm ... not a bad idea.
Wedndesdays aren't the best days for me though. I'll be able to log on, but not until about 8pm normally. I'm happy to take the lead though, and set up missions etc. for everyone.
Although I've jumped a little ahead of the new starters and I think I'm currently 6th. So maybe we could do with a little 'catch up' period before upping the rep.
Ok, I'll logon as Mr Johnson as soon as I can on Wednesday, and we can take it from there.
Mike.
level 6 ! did i miss a exp run ? im still level 3 ..can we do a recap of peoples levels so we can function together .
I'm lvl 29, renamed an existing AR/Dev blaster
Recap, March 3rd.
The boys met at the usual spot and started talking about a need for somewhere secure where they could meet without fear of eavesdroppers. Of course, just at that moment they heard a voice from the rooftop above their position. instantly drawing their weapons, they looked up to see a semi-transparent winged figure perched bird like on the ledge above. Taking offence at being watched, in spite of the winged figure's claims, the guys told him to buzz off, though more impolitely.
The wing bearer retreated prompting Rekkah, the group's only mutant, to explain that he had somewhere in mind. So, once their newest friend, a student engineer type, had arrived they set off to find the base Rekkah had in mind.
30 feet below street level they found themselves in a large maintenance and storage chamber off the main sewer network.
There they discussed their "big plan" and how they intended to go about it. Most were against the plan the kid hadf brought with him, but Kinsey seemed to be all for it.
Something about locking teleport receivers and leading a crusade has a way of inspiring people who are sick and tired of metahuman interference and arrogance.
