I'm not sure of the usefulness of Choking Cloud on a Grav at all, Grav tends to be ranged and choking cloud requires you to be in melee range.

Good way to save yourself from Melee?

Runs in, Choking Cloud then Wormhole them away?

Choking Cloud takes a while to kick in, even then it won't hit everyone. Plus it needs 6 slots.

On my Fire/Rad its great because everything is Flashfire-stunned and Fire Caged. I can run in happily and wait the 6-12 seconds or so for Choking Cloud to take effect without incurring the wrath of everyone (Choklng is a super little aggro magnet). Choice bosses are Air Supped & Fissured onto their backs and held.

On a Grav I'm not sure you really have that constant opener to give you the breathing space while choking kicks in (the AOE hold isn't really up enough and Wormholes AOE is small).

Sidenote on openers:

Solo - Don't need the opener really.

Teams or "big spawns" - Wormhole is a good opener (I'm got a "chance for knockback" in mine that fires as soon as power starts (i.e. before they tp/stunned) so anything hit wont have chance to reply before it's mezzed.

Spawning a Sing in the middle of mob (if you've got even minor stealth you can easily get in range is a good opener).

GDF - Obvious

But you're right, those don't really helped with CC. I didn't know CC took so long to kick though....I'm really unconvinced by Grav/Rad synergy atm (all though I have little experience with Rad)

Rad synergizes well with everything but obviously some more than others as Carni has already stated with his fire/rad example.

Yep, I don't think Choking Cloud works well with Grav, but everything else will. The ability to Wormhole things into a closed corner and then slap the anchors & Lingering Radiation on them for example means you'd have em nicely clustered, mezzed and debuffed and begging to be AOE'd.

Plus if you skip Choking Cloud you have 4-5 extra slots to play with which is a bonus.
