Yup, it seems rather dodgy. Same goes with 'shared' effects like regen or recovery, once you close the 'select window' it pops back to your stats.
Exception i found however is current HP, that one remain to be of my necro pet.

I had the idea to use the new Attribute Monitor to keep track of my Thugs Bruiser's Damage Bonus and hence his Fury level. Just out of curiosity.
I can certainly view his stats in the full Combat Attributes Window and even select his damage bonus to monitor but the monitor window seems to only show his stats while the CAW is open. When the main window is closed the monitor seems to revert to showing my damage bonus.
Has anyone else tried this or anything else from their pets's stats? Has anyone seen anything on how (or if) this is supposed to work?
