DA guides

I can't seem to find a DA guide anywhere, the only ones i can find are the US ones but they only go up to I9.

Linked bellow.

Like all guides, my personal pref on powers and slotting. I have also changed some of the slotting on the armors. Will post you an updated example when I get to work tomorrow.

What is your Primary as that can affect which powers you want to take.

Not sure yet probably katana

I wrote one a while ago, i11 Kat/DA..but it's merely musings, less a guide (no slotting, or mids etc). Scroll back in the scrappers thing if interested.

What're you looking to be 'guided' about, if you don't mind me asking?

It's dark armor i would like some info on as i've been regen for so long i fancy a challenge, plus it looks soo cool.
Not sure what to couple it with something end friendly.

DA is the least end friendly thing you'll ever use. If you run most of the set, and Leaping to fill the lack of KB procetion, you're running 8 toggles +...let me find the link to my post

From DA you need 5 powers, the rest is optional.

Must haves:
Dark embrace
Murky cloud
Obsidian shield
Dark regen
Oppressive gloom

Rest is all up to you, I personally wouldnt get cloak of fear (end hog) or the self rez (just carry a wakie..) but death shroud could be good for AoE damage and the stealth for stealthing

Ah so this is where personal preference comes in, I would not call opressive gloom one of the powers you must have (though I agree with the other four), while at the same time I couldnt see myself not choosing the selfrez.

I would say that OG is a must have, no real end cost. PBAoE mag 2 stun. Whats not to like.

Posted

I can see the obvious Pros of OG, but i couldnt Drop the fear due to it's lack of rez in PvP. tempted to spec OG out and put CoD back in or Focussed ACC (for Guassain Proc)

there's certainly plenty of personal preference. But with DA being rather squishy, scrapperwise, at least one of the soft controls *is* essential, I feel

I'd agree with those 5.

Gloom is probably the biggest single source of mitigation that DA gets and is certainly one of the more welcome additions on a team. The Fear aura however, is completely negated by damage (including DA's own aura) and is definately an endurance hog. I'd consider the fear to be not worth even considering for a /DA that's built for AoE damage such as a Spines/DA... Gloom is simply far superior.

If you go via the leaping pool for KB/Immob Protection you can drop Cloak of Darkness. I'd be hard pressed to see a DA user going without any Knockback protection for 50 levels. IOs can be used to fill-in for Acro.

Personally I quite like the rez. Unlike the Regen or Peacebringer rez you become invunerable for a short period (though you DO need a nearby mob), and the stun will mez everything up to and including AVs/GMs.

I think I have actually killed myself using OG...
But then again I am good like that

ive got a claws/DA and i run 4/5 toggles and i slot the first two sheilds with KB protection, and from that you only get the odd KB here and there from a high lvl AV or something

and for the record, ive never needed to use OG, never seen the point, just my play style really
and DA rez is a must have in by book A) looks damn cool B) stuns(in lvl 50 teams i use it as a attack to big groups sometimes :P)

have just respecced.

3 shields, death shroud, OG, CJ, Clock of Darkness, Focussed accuracy.

Lots of combinations to play about with. End is an issue running them all and using Dark Regeneration.

Never dull

i'd recommoned putting a IO set into dark regen, because now mines got very low end cost, fast recharge and heal

Posted

heal 78%
Recharge 97%
end redux 84%

the extra acc comes from FA (84% end redux)

the end cost is low, it's just the pace solo, *never* a problem in teams, all toggles, the full monty

--- DARK REGEN ---
Sciroccos D: Acc/Dam/End (+21.2% to all)
Sciroccos D: Acc/Rech (+26.5% to all)
Multi Strike: Acc/End (+26.5% to all)
Numina's Conva.: End/Heal (+26.5% to all)
Numina's Conva.: End/Rech (+26.5% to all)
Numina's Conva.: End/Heal/Rech (+21.2% to all)
= 74.2% Acc, 21.2% Damage, 121.9% End, 47.7% Heal, 74.2% Rech

Substitute "Doctored Wounds" for Numinas if short on inf.

No probs!

It's a slightly tweaked version of the one from here BTW.

My own Spines/DA hasn't really been touched lately. The only addition since my last post in that thread has been two purple IOs in Death Shroud. Still soloing Carnie maps with all toggles and Focussed Accuracy on...
