My Human/Dwarf PB

I've been thinking about respeccing my PB into a human/dwarf build and spent quite a lot of time making a build which would:
<ul type="square">[*]be achievable with a reasonable amount of inf[*]maintain usefulness in human form while also being good in dwarf[*]and maybe even get some good set bonuses [/list]
And this is what I ended up with. One thing to notice when checking the build: even if there is 7x 5% +rech, 3 of those only work in dwarf form and 4 only in human form. Also any "mistakes" at power orders pointed out would be nice, havent respecced my PB in ages and havent had some of these powers in quite a while so dont really remember how useful they are (the first power like this that springs to my mind is solar flare).

I'd definately go for Health rather than hurdle, since you can put the Numina/Miracle +recovery uniques in it, and Human form attacks are endurance intensive... I'd slap a FlightSpeed IO in Swift. And if possible, take Dwarf at 20. It makes a REALLY handy tank for early TFs.

My own current Human/Dwarf PB build I'm really happy with right now, and is below. He's got 37.5% Global Recharge (which is the equivilant of 5 LOTG +Recharges) in the build.

I thought I'd miss Pulsar, but TBH with Dwarfie so early, and Light Form on such a fast recharge, I've never actually needed it. Seekers/Solar Flare/Dawn Strike make a pretty light show though.

Well yeah, about dwarf at 20 I could just swap dwarf and stamina around...

I agree your build has some great set bonuses but I dont really want to spend as much inf on the build as you have planned to do (no LotG +rech, numina/miracle uniques etc) :P

Also the dwarf attacks seem a bit underslotted. Anyway, your build is nice but would cost way too much for me

EDIT: Also what's your opinion about photon seekers? I've had them since.. When I dinged 35 on my PB (aaageees ago) but I'm not really sure if I want/need them. The AI does seem a bit borked to me. The damage they do is great but I cant recall all of them blowing up in a mob in the past month.

The seekers are basically a Mini Nuke. Jump into a tightly-clumped mob and release them --&gt; BOOM!
I've never had much use for them as actual pets. Their AI is too dumb to work effectively after summoning.

Dwarfie attacks only seem underslotted until you realise that I only play dwarf when I need to tank something for my teammates. I've no real use for any damage output in Dwarf form, since Dwarf attacks are weak and I have light form for fighting mezzing enemies. What I do find helpful in dwarf form is an accurate + long lasting antagonise, a regular + accurate knockdown footstomp (Flare) and a powerful + regular self-heal (Sublimation).

The build was a bit pricey, but I'd been planning it for a while and had some spare inf on-hand. Came to about 250-300 mill altogether, and I'd consider it worth it. It's the first time my PB hasn't felt "short on slots"!

Aha I see, maybe slotting 2-3 parts of different sets for some acc/dmg/rech then for dwarf attacks? The plain acc just seems.. Well a bit off. Might need to try on test though to see if I want the extra damage in the attacks.

Lookies fine. Some attacks aren't quite at the ED damage cap, but nothing looks out of place really.

Like your build too Praf, was thinking of fitting one of those "chance for -resist" defdebuff IOs into Dwarf Flare (can free one up from Seekers if I use a few Purple Pet IOs in place of commons). Not sure if I'd sacrifice slotted damage for +damage set bonuses that much though. I exemp too much...

My build is admitedly gimicky. I'll tell you which of my procs work really well though: FrcFbk-Rechg% in White Dwarf Flare.

The -resist one I'm having trouble rating its effectiveness. I do tend to spam Glinting Eye though.

I got +39% accuracy and +6% to hit from set bonuses, so I don't need to slot it with accuracy. If the damage proc fires it will have more effect than a taunt duration, and I can keep spamming flare with it's +recharge proc wich usually attacks enough attention.

I don't team tank that often anyway, I usually just use dwarf as mez protection whilst Light Form recharges.

Ahh I see, might change the slots from taunt into a +rech for flare and 1 to somewhere.

It's been my experience that you need to slot slightly more than one SO's worth of Accuracy in Antagonise, plus about one Taunt SO and one Recharge SO in it in order to properly hold aggro on an AV.

I "team tank" in Dwarf form regularly, and wouldn't feel comfortable tanking with any less than 3 slots. However if you just use Dwarf as a heal and/or mez protection toggle, then you won't need to slot Antagonise at all.

Well the reason I picked dwarf in the first place was tanking for teammates if we needed a tank. Would make playing my PB a bit more interesting if I had 2 possible roles in a team. So slots or no slots in taunt? The +rech in flare seems nice though..

My usual AV stratagy is lightform=&gt;die=&gt;self rez=&gt;dwarf. The lightform holds aggro quite well because you can do a lot of damage, but you might try taking a taunt from the presance pool.

I have got 6 slots in antagonise 2,2,2. Eventually the new taunt sets will go in them, probably in the year 2012. They will be worth having to me . Go with what you like but no less than Maelwys suggestion with IOs ffs.

I woudn't. Especially I wouldn't slot any recharge in Taunt. Taunt is most effective when it is combined with damage. If you have a fast recharge in your taunt and spam it you will reduce the amount of damage you are doing (since if you are taunting you arn't attacking) and so it will be less effective.

Anyway, with Hasten and Force Feedback +recharge you should be able to keep your recharge at at least 170%, with is much better than you can get with slotting.

Taunt is a huge aggro multiplier, you won't lose anything by spamming it unless you do nothing BUT spam it and there is a Scrapper with a taunt aura hitting the same foe you are.

The problem with a Dwarf's Taunt is that it lasts for a much shorter time than a tanker taunt, and against higher-level AVs and the like, you won't be able to keep them Taunted all the time unless you have it slotted for duration and a considerable recharge buff (either from set bonuses, buffs or slotting).

That, and unlike Tanker taunt, Dwarf taunt requires a ToHit check... so it's not autohit...

The lack of auto-hit has a bigger consiquence: it always has at least 5% chance of missing. This is quite a lot if you work through how many times you actually use the power. I.e. it simply cannot be relied upon, however you slot it.

In a PB build, where every slot is precious, I don't think it's worth using many slots on something so unreliable.
