ok hes my advice even though my only tank i have ever liked to play was a invun/ss fire is gd but i wouldnt bother with blades i would go energy instead my m8's got a fire/energy tank wand he says its a g8t tank to play or i would say go ice/energy i hope that helps you
You mentioned that it maybe challenging and are unsure that its a good choice. Apart from concept I can't think of any better reasons. Treat it as going where no ones gone yet and write the book on it as you go.

If I see you ingame the best I can do is come and leec *cough* watch and see where we can cut fight durations and maintain taunt control etc.

I have an Ice/Blades at the moment that is slowly leveling up on an SG team.
WEAKEN is my advice from blades. It has made a big difference since I picked up that combo. Blades are very end heavy though, and I dont plan to take the whole set. I also want sweep. Am basically looking to get damage mitigation from the blades rather than damage as they seem quite poor on that front.
For survival on fire obviously you're looking at healing flames as your main tool.
Dont really know a vast deal about fire tanks and am only just learning dual blades so will leave it there. I think its probably a good combo but might be a tough one to fit everything in. I'd be more concerned about slots than power picks cause it seems slot heavy in my mind

Cool thanks for the advice! Hehe I wasn't expecting too much especially seeing as Duel Blades hasn't been out too long 
I think I'll try out a few builds on Mids first before I dive right in but sounds like this could be an interesting combo!

Ha well your very welcome to when I eventually get the courage to start leveling the poor dude I have to agree though, I think I did put the sets together for more a concept thing but still should be rather interesting to implement

Sounds like a good plan! I think this sounds like a good route to go down... didn't realise Blades were end heavy though so makes me think that consume and healing flames are must haves

Fire/DB is a pretty good AoE combo. I think you'll be finding, at higher levels, you can do muchos AoE damage with BF -> FE -> Sweep combo.
Righty I think it is about time I break away from my comfort zone of Defenders and Controllers! I wasn't quite sure what AT to play, plus I really wanted something as challenging as playing my Defenders and Controllers. After to speaking to a few close friendies online I think I'm ready to give being a Tanker a go! I've decided to choose Fiery Aura and Duel Blades for my first Tanker
Not sure if this is going to be a good choice for my first defensive/melee toon but thats all part of the fun eh? 
Anyhow I was wondering if anyone out there with Tanker experience or just general knowledge of the sets could give me some advice on Fire/Blades either through tips or some sample builds! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
