aye roaste. it has been confirmed by devs that we get respec. As most domis, it would work better in 1v1 imo. Since domis are really squishes, i dont think they can do much in zonal pvp (except if in team). Thats, i repeat, my opinion.
For pvp, almost all controlls can be suppresed with a breakfree, and almost all pvpers bring them to pvp (both, arena and zones)
But the slows cant be suppressed with a breakfree, and thats why a grav/ice should be nice for stacking -slows and -recharge and let the enemy almost stopped and recharging all his powers...
So, for pvp grav/ice should be awesome, and add it the powerboost and u will have the enemy almost stopped in a short time.
Resuming,
PROS: stack slows, stack -rech, nice dmg at range (in ice set), pet who slows too
CONS: controls a bit long animation, controls check S/L defense, no AIM/FE power to boost ur dmg.
Overall, it seems fine for a pvper. I had a friend who had a lvl50 grav/fire and he was a nightmare for meleers... He laught at them when they tried to gank them saying 'u believed i was an easy kill??'

Grav/ is only -speed, not -recharge.
When in domination you have to use maybe 2-3 BFs to get out of the holds (provided that you're a scrapper/tank, rest get mezzed instantly)
Ice gives -recharge
Grav/ice is mint mate, go for it!
As another poster said before, I wasnt talking only from a primary set or secondary...
As a WHOLE, grav/ice can stack -slow (in both grav and ice sets) and can stack -rech (only in ice)...
And yeah, as u stated, a BF will give u 3 mezz protection in pvp (AFAIK), and in domination we are double of mag, that mezzes 6 mag. If u have been detoggled, u may be burning BFs as fast as beer
