Right, I've been exploring both US and EU boards but I can't find the thing I want: A good all round PB Tri-Form IO Build.

I want to be able to solo in all forms (which is why I think I might need the IO Set Bonuses to do so) It can be a build that is purely Basic IO, or Purely IO Set or a mixture of both, but all I want is a stable, all round PB.

i think PB's are perfectly solo'able without any IO's at all!

However, after a brief look at that build, i noticed you have the 3 toggle sheilds but only 2 main attacks (the 2 blasts will be very weak with 1 & 3 slots) in human form, so if you use nova or dwarf forms mutch, you'll spend more time toggling sheilds than hitting things which may be a concern, i'd prioritise the attacks over the defences (though that's my personal preference, I've found that about 80% of damage done to me is smashing/lethal and having both heal powers negates the rest).

I also spotted that you have 3 taunts & 1 recharge in White Dwarf Antagonize, you will definatly want to swap one of the taunts to an accuracy, even then it will still probably miss more than you'd like it to

Other than that, it looks pretty workable to me!

I also found Solar Flare to be really usefull, i open up with BU - Nova Form - Bright Nova Scatter - Bright Nova Detonation - Human Form - Solar Flare - Incandescent Strike (on the Boss), this wipes out most 4 - 6 man even conning spawns, and even some +1 spawns, without even breaking a sweat!

I can post my build if you like (it has both SO/IO slotting and Set-IO/HO slotting included, using 'character-Slots-Flip all to alternate' to change between the two).

Sorry for the double post an all but here is a revised build: put an acc in taunt and 1 more slots in gleaming blast and one more in Glinting Eye

TBH I only really use Rad Strike and Incan and Gleaming Blast, so that is why I put one of the 3 slots I was going to put on Glinting Eye on to Gleaming Blast. Plus with the Devastation IO Set it gives me 6% total global damage buff.

The Numina Healing IOs, the Devastation Ranged IOs and the Mako's Bite Melee IOs are going to really hurt your pocket. Scirroco's Dervish are also fairly pricey IIRC, and Aegis, Impervium Armor, Decimation and a few of the Miracles whilst not very costly for the recipe require pricey rare magic salvage.

The Common IOs, Titanium Coating, Positron's Blast and the Doctored Wounds IOs will be cheapish.

I'd estimate around 120-140 million inf altogether, assuming you're buying the set IO recipes/salvage and crafting them. Buying premade Common IOs would probably be cheaper than crafting them.

You've no HOs to get, and if you were prepared to get level 49 instead of level 50 (and 39 instead of 40) recipes then that would certainly push the price down a good bit. You might be able to make it for about 80-100 million inf then. The biggest dent in your pocket is by far going to be the unique Healing IOs (around 40 mill just for them) and the rare magic salvage needed for recipes (2-5 mill each on average).

So I'd need to save up say 160 million to make sure?

I've recently respecced my DM /DA scrapper with all the good stuff getting it as cheap as I can I have spent easy 160+ EASY.

Still not 80% of the way there either.

I hope the AH prices go down a lot before I am ready to do this.

Say I use a respec and spec into this build for the slots and all that, what SO's would you slot and how to tide me over til I am ready for the full IO sets?

The main problem I had when I came to designing my PB (in i6) was the lack of enhancement slots. I purposely went Human-only until level 35 simply to try to optimise myself for blapper-style +damage. I got him to 50 though (faster than I got my regen scrapper there!) and I enjoyed the ride.

Currently that toon is still on SOs (I have a IO build planned for him, but he's been pretty far down on my "level 50s to refit" list), he's skipped Nova and has taken Dwarf at 30. I do have an old Tri-former SO build kicking about, but it's quite specialised (Human Form is for buffing/healing only, Nova Form is for damage, Dwarf Form is the tanker) I can post both builds if you're interested, but really the best way to slot your PB is the way you want to slot it, there are far too few slots available to a PB and far too many powers + possible form specialisations/combinations for someone else to give you an "ideal" build!

I suppose what I am asking is that is it worth me respeccing into my new slots and filling them in with SO's for the tme being while very slowly saving for IO's after I have finished my Scrapper.

My PB is on my list next because he's the first Alt I ever made (yes I had 1 char - my scrapper all the way to 50, and then made a PB) And since they named Ghost Widow's most powerful attack after me (I made the PB way before Villains were in the picture) I have to make it uber enough to honour that

Some powers seem a little underslotted - photon seekers and pulsar for instance.

I've not really got around to looking at slotting my PB with IOs yet but to be honest I'll probably not be focusing much on the set bonuses but more on improving the powers I have for fewer slots. For instance I only had enough slots to 4 slot essence boost (rather than the optimal 3 heal, 3 recharge) but with IOs I can use four heal/recharge from different sets to get the same affect as 6 slotting. I'll probably use a fair few HOs as well.

Dunno, what do peopel think - do PBs gain much from set bonuses (some of the special globals are a different case of course)?

I think PBs gain the most from the Knockback Protection and Mez Resistance IOs, which you can slot into Incandescence so they're always active whilst in Human Form. There's also a lot to be said for endurance management with the +recovery and extra EndReduction %s you can squeeze into the attacks with set IOs.

At the moment set bonuses carry across between forms too, so you can make Dwarfie and Nova a good bit better than they once were before with +regen/+recovery/+Damage/+resistance etc. from set bonuses.

Personally the IO Peacebringer build I've planned focusses on percentage numbers more than anything else... it's a "high mobility" build with emphasis on single target damage in Human Form (though it has some AoE via Dawn Strike/Seekers/Solar Flare) and survivability/tanking ability in Dwarf Form. IOs will basically make my PB easier to play through increased damage/endurance rather than drastically change his playstyle.

The only thing I miss that isn't in this build is Pulsar, and I haven't had that for three respecs now (I find that a well-slotted Dwarf Form usually does just as much if not more mitigation than Pulsar). I've never had a use for the Human Form shields, especially taking Dwarfie so early and with Light Form slotted for recharge.

Although technically my PB is next on my "50s to IO out" list, I've gotten a bit bored after completing three builds already and I already have a good AoE damage toon IO'ed out (Spines/Dark scrapper)... so it's unlikely that I'll actually sit down and make him into the below build any time soon.

Thanks for posting your build(s) I think before I can do anything I need to finish IOing my scrapper, then get back into playing my PB and then I can make an informed decision.

I'm semi-reconsidering pulsar now. I don't actually use it that much thinking about it... but I'm not sure what to replace it with...

Unfortunatly you can't export both set-up's in one go, this is just the Set-IO build, The empty slot in Health is a free slot to put where you want, putting a proc IO in one of the attacks for example.

One point of note; This build doesn't provide any KB protection, the free slot could be used for the unique KB IO (I can't remember it's name though) if you prefer. This build is an extension of my non Set-IO build which fits my play style, you may want to make a few adjustments to it to fit your own style better
