Dark Armour / Dark Melee IO Build Wanted
Hi mate.

Not fully IO set slotted, I don't think any of the dmg res IO sets can really be 2x end redux IO and 3x dmg res IO for bang/buck. I have added a 6th slot to my 3 dmg res armors for steadfasts.
I'll be posting my final current build tomorrow.
Here's a quick Build I just made, it is obviously improvable but I think it is quite a good one. Be warned that all these sets is going to be awfully expensive like in hundred of mill inf if you just want to buy everything. Your best choice is to do as many TF's - Trials you can for the drops and the inf. It is quite close to the one I am planning for my DM/DA (if not same, I don't have the other one here:

If I recall correctly, the one I have planned for my lvl 28 DM/DA is same but it has Siphon Life with 2 Lysosome Exposures and 4 Miracle Set enhancements (same as Dark Regeneration) instead of Shadow Punch. Might respec it later in ame and go for Shadow Punch instead.-
Your KB prot won't be the same than with Acrobatics, but you Mag 8 should be enough for PvE except for occasional KB by Fake Nemesis. You can always skip Air Superiority and get Acrobatics, hence you can skip both the Karma KB Prot enhancement and use a Luck of the Gambler Recharge Reduction in Combat Jumping and also skip the Steadfast KB Protection and use another from the Aegis set.-
An other build to add to the 7 I have already done here and there. This is basically what I am working towards. I am about 7 recipes off (basically the bloody expensve ones)
I think the summary at the bottom of the set bonuses is wrong. Especially as it says onlt 7.5% recovery bonus, when I have the numina's unique which gives 10% on its own and the miracle 7.5% one as well....
The figues in HP it's self say this build regens 3.03 end/s and uses 0.7 - 1.2/s so the recovery is a lot more than the total bellow suggest.
Any ways. this little build is going on test tonight to see if there are any huge issues.

I'm quite happy with it and I have to save up some inf anyway - not quite sure about Soul Transfer at lvl 49, but with 187% recovery I am not sure that I'd need it

The one thing I would say is wheres cloak of fear or oppressive gloom?
They are the the major damage mitagation powers in the late 40+ game.
Don't need Cloak of Fear because have Touch of Fear which can Fear AV's and with the To-hit debuff the more it is applies the less they hit etc.
Oppressive gloom, is a nice little disorient power and I love it, perhaps worth slotting in the lvl 49 power instead of Soul Transfer.
However I have Tough and with the other toggles im getting 7.6% defense all round along with 15.1% defense to psionics.
And 58.7% resistance to Psionics, 53.8% resistance to Smash/Lethal, 38.1% resistance to Fire and Cold, 23.5% resistance to energy and toxic and 56.3% resistance to Negative.
So although damage mitigation is nice, with the amount of defense / resistance im talking do I really need it? Bedises with SS there's the +stealth aspect, as well as the Touch of Fear I can put on a particularly annoying enemy.
Oppressive gllom is worth it IMHO, if you solo a lot or if you run big teams on high diff.
In 8 man lvl 50 teams on heroic, its bugger all use, stuff dies before it gets stunned (especially true as I normally team with atleast 2 fire blasters)
In 8 man lvl 50 teams on INV, it helps a lot especially if there aren't many AoEs and lots of squishies.
I also find it very useful when soloing on rugged or above. it keeps the min ocupied while you whale on the harder hitters. With 5 slots of stupify for a coupple of acc/mez HO's it's an almost guarenteed mez. Plus it costs naff all end.
But again each to their own.
So you think I should take it for lvl 49? Add a DisDur to it?
I would drop the second travel power and put OG and dark consumption in there.
But then if you want to keep the second travel power I would try to fit dark consumption in there, you might find you have some end issues with that build.
I'd also say save your self the inf and slot all your shields with 2x end redux IOs, 3 xdmg res IOs and then the steadfast. It's be a lot cheaper. Get the extra slots by taking 1 from cloak of darkness and 2 from dark blast.
Try your build on test and see what you think.

Plus with 187% +recovery, would I really have endurance issues?
You wont have any end issues TRUST ME! I got no end issues on my ice/energy blaster and i have less recovery. That build pwns imop.

If you slot the shields with 3 dmg res IOs, you'll have very slightly higher res than with the sets. You'll loose some of the bonuses here and there, but the damage res set bonuses really aren't worth the inf they cost to a DM/DA
If you check the wording of the 2 heal IOs which give the big recovery boost, they only work for 120secs, not the whole time. So it may be worth double checking the figures.
Larac slotting them in health keeps em perma! And the IO's in the dmg res is what is giving him 7,5% extra recovery and 6,6% more end. FOR THE LAST TIME YOU WANT HAVE ANY END ISSUES

The bonuses for slotting 2 or more enhcs of a set are perma and if you slot the 2 uniques in health, then the recovery is also perma.
I think the inf on sets is very much worthy, specially on /DA scrappers which are arguably the most benefitted in I9. I agree with you on the damage mitigation toggles, now a DA scrapper can have ALL DA toggles including Cloak of Fear plus Tough and Focused Accuracy running and having similar endurance issues as a SR or an INV had prior to I9.
The build I posted is supposedly able to work with a minimum number sets (KB prot and recovery ones) until the rest can be bought, which is going to take quite sometime tbh, but if you have fun playing a DM/DA, that shouldn't be a problem.

Are you sure about the Convalescence: +Regeneration/+Recovery being perma? It's not a set bonus it's a single IO bonus and actually states in the text that it lasts for 120seconds. Same for the Miracle + recover.
I have studied all these builds in hero planner this afternoon and can see that value of slotting Impervium in 3 of the res based sets, DEPENDING on their price. Because if you seriously plan on getting the numina's and miracle +recovery IOs, you'll be looking @ 40-50mil for the pair. Plus the 12mil for the KB IOs, the 12-15mil per set of crushing impact, same for positron and sirico. Glympse of the abyss is a cheap one to buy but expensive to craft (needs hami goo, essence of furries etc).
@Psydock lets see your build then mate..... And leave off the caps.
Just for info, I have reworked my suggested build by switching to slotting Impervium:

221% regen, 111.3%HP, 187% end recov, 109% max end.
The res stats are slightly lower in most cases but only by 1% max.

My build is the one Rike's posted.
I am positive on that Larac, the recovery is perma if they slotted in a passive (Health). May not have effect if exemped far below the lvl of the enhancement. The price of the enhancements is prohibitive, however, anyone who wants it should do a Shadow Shard TF with me, for some reason most ppl I've done any of those TF's get the Numina one (I still keep my hopes up for mine ) and besides, OP was specifically asking for a build with full sets.

For the +perception? useful in PvP areas or against Arachnos, of course, it could be Tactics if you want to go for Leadership and also of course, useless with the 60% accuracy if not bothered about the perception.
Not saying your build is not a great build Psydock, I just think that, as you can get enough acc with FA easily, I'd rather concentrate the sets in other bonuses that are not that easily obtainable, but that is just a matter of opinion.-
Hero planner seems to indicate that the +ACC from set bonus's goes onto the base 75% of the attacks, where as foc acc is a tohit buff.
Do these work differently in the game mechanics? Or is it just a quirk of hero planner.

They work differently as many ppl have told me, no idea which is the exact difference.
If I am not wrong, FA will buff powers such as Sands of Mu, while +acc will not.-
Accuracy and ToHit do work differently. Arcana is the "authority" on the US boards and knows more about acc, def and tohit than I ever will!

This equation, in my opinion, basically means tohit buffs are better than acc buffs, percentage-wise. Any accuracy buffs you get are added to your base accuracy, where as tohit buffs are multiplied by your base accuracy. Best bet's probably to boost both as high as you possibly can

I'll still be respec'ing into my fly build tonight and by selling the crafted Aegis I'll free up, I should be able to afford the miracle which is the last bit I require.

My DM/DA Scrapper, Rike has been around since about Issue 3, and as such I think its time I update him to be end-friendly as possible, and kitted with Invention Sets - to make him multi-purpose and generally uber
However, I dont really have the time to sit down and have an in-depth look at all sets i could choose and all that, so I was wondering if someone would help me out by posting a good Old School build.
Currently I have: Smite, Shadow Maul, Siphon Life, Dark Regeneration, Dark Consumption, All Shields, Super Jump, Combat Jumping, Acrobatics, Fitness (swift, health stamina), Cloak of Darkness, Oppressive Gloom, Midnight Grasp, Death Shroud, Soul Transfer and Conserve Energy, Focus accuracy.
I think thats all..
Anyway, If i can get Karma: Knockback protection on a power, maybe Combat Jumping, what Travel Power do ppl recommend?
Can I also request any builds posted to have all the improvements (set bonuses) listed so I can see where I gain and can play around with the build a bit. Also would like a rough estimate at how much inf I will need to actually get the IO's
