You can also get invisibility from stealth pool to stack with hide for even better protection, but you must switch it off to attack.

I'd say it's well worth slotting def & end red on hide as you should be running it constantly. THe def helps boost your AoE def greatly to stop you getting caught in the odd bit of excess blast when your in the thick of it trying to assasinate.
However.. depends what your secondry is on how much you want to slot it up really 
yeah i'm with ninjitsu, so i got the danger sense and ninja reflexes always on. i love ninjitsue, with it's retsu, it's so sexy
Yep I'd slot hide as well if you can fit it into the build as all the def adds up
A slotted Hide gives around 62% Defense to AoE, so slot it my friend, slot it good

Defense enhancements wont improve your stealth, but they do improve your defense.
Stealth + Hide + Celerity Stealth/Unbound Stealth IO ->> Cap afaik.
Yes that caps you out unless you are silly enough to wander into arctic air or similar.

Ok, i'm a stalker obviously and i enjoy my pvp. And the only hide move i have is the one i get by default.
So is there a way i can turn it into a super-hide? Like with enhancment slots, anything to make it more invisible so those scum heroes using +per can't see me?
Step by step instructions would be appreciated.
