Alkaloid vs Aid Other
If you slot Alkaloid proper (as in SO's, 2end, 2heal, 1rech/1range), it can beat aid other any time. Dont forget that aid other is interuptable, even in powers like quicksand or huricane.
With alkaloid you can run, cast it and not having to worry for the 'interupted' message, even if it heals less.

Oh and my alkaloid has a pretty quick recharge, close to that of brawl. I can heal each pet quickly and without interruption, that's why it is better than aid other.
I just started a thugs/poison MM and I got Aid Other at lvl 8 and was struck by the great difference between the two powers. Aid other costs a whole bunch less in end and heals for more! I realise that alkaloid has greater range and can be used on the move and has 10% tox res, but the cost!
I find having both heals very useful with the paper thin thugs
