2 little questions ^^
Power Boost is so useful to Dominators that I would have to say that Psi does miss a power like this. Instead it is the only set to get a power like Drain Psyche, it is a very good power that reduces the regen and endurance gain of all the foes around you and increases your own regen. I love this power.
Psi does do less damage than other dom sets. Mind Probe and Psi Dart are going to be your main attacks for quite a while. Psi Dart helps you to gain Domination faster than any other secondary I have tried. Mental Blast is fixed in I8 so it is worth picking it up now.
My Psi Dom is only lvl 26 atm so I have no idea how good Psi Shockwave is. I have heard very, very good things about it.
Fire Imps are awesome. I have a lvl 42 Fire/Nrg and as soon as you get the imps you really start to rock, they do great damage and help to keep you allive because they keep a fair bit of aggro off you. I picked up aid other and aid self, the aid other was useful to keep my imps alive in longer fights and aid self is always useful for doms.
Smoke isn't useful as a debuff and you wont notice the effect. It is very good early on at keeping nearby mobs from noticing you, you can get close to them without them seeing you. Smoke becomes incredibly useful once you get imps because you can smoke the mob and get close enough so that the imps take the alpha strike.
Fire/Psi definately sounds like an interesting combination, I'd say give it a go.
Oh and smoke doesnt stack as far as i'm aware.
would the debuff of to hit would stack with the one of intimidate to make a true debuff ?

Ditto - it was one of my main reasons for picking /Psi on my Mind/Psi dom (together with Drain Psyche and my character concept). But otherwise /psi damage is very poor - I certainly seem to do a lot less damage than my friend's Plant/Thorns, and less damage than anything else I have ever played. /Fire, /Energy or /Ice would probably do much better damage imho.
It used to be said that hardly anything resisted psi - maybe in PvP, but that's not really the truth in CoV PvE - sometimes you'll run into things like Council Mechmen or other robots that halve its damage completely - when things resist psi they REALLY resist it and the only things I found that were noticeably weak to psi were CoT spectrals.

Drain Psyche is good, especially the End part, but it doesn't help control or damage directly so I wouldn't use it as your main reason for playing /psi (sadly I did a few months ago when I made my Mind/Psi ).
Sadly I doubt my Mind/Psi will make it to Psychic Shockwave - it's the only power I'm really looking forward to now before 50 and I'm enjoying other characters more.
If you can time your dominations right you don't miss the powerboost that much, as it boosts the effect of holds not the damage.
Psi is rather weak, as Valkryst has said in PvE most mobs that resist it have 50% res, the other sets are more commonly resisted but they do more damage so will often still out damage Psi on the same mob.
That said Psychic Shockwave is a lovely and powerfull attack that can rip large groups of mobs to shreads in seconds
While I don't know the debuff numbers on smoke, it's reduced visability is useful and combined with a simple "stealth" effect power (such as Super Speed) it will make you near invisable to mobs.
It's also a very team friendly power, a MM can get his pets far closer to a smoked mob, any def based Brutes and stalkers will apreacheate the extra -tohit (or at least they should)
I wouldn´t be too concerned about Psi´s damage output as it is that fast building domination. Also, if it is enough to solo EBs in just a little more time than a brute (but so much safer since he does not strike back) and to outdamage a corruptor while duoing Infernal during the Tarikoss SF (while the rest of the team watched from afar... We mouthed off a little bit too much beforehand. ) then I feel that the damage can not be that bad.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

Im starting to get peeved when people say that domination automatically solves any damage issues.. Besides even if your domination bar was fixed on full status, domination would STILL be down 3 and half minutes out of every five minutes..

i think a little the same.
any */psy dom could give me some feedback? not of their uberness but only of how hard is their life at high level .
i plan to do a fire/psi dominator and i have some issues.
the first
do */psi dominator suffer a lot of the lack in this scondary of power like power boss or aim?
i mean psi is not a high damaging set (compared to NRJ or fire)
and fire don't get pet that help in the control (do they really do all the damage they are rumored to do ? )
so i wonder if this combinaison is a good match : /
the second concern smoke.
i read that this power alone wasn't enough to be usefull.
can someone tell me the % of to hit debuff this power get once 3 slotted with 3 acc reduce so ?
do multiple application stack ?
