Scrapper Epic Pool

I'm 2 levels off being able to choose one of these but wanted to get people thoughts before i got there..

Im a Kat/SR and was looking at the body mastery pool. Now the last 2 powers (laser beam eys and energy torrent) seem pretty pants but the other two seem ok.

How much use is focused acuracy? Assuming my coh planners telling the truth (out of date and cant upgrade it for some stupid reason) i actually get a better acc boost if i slot build up with 3 acc enhances... Do i need focused acuracy and if not how much of a benefit is having it?

Secondly, how much use is conserve power? and when do people tend to use it? My end issues are pretty much sorted now except in long fights or if im being sappered or hit with electric attacks?

Any advise on these two powers and how to slot them?

Cheers, V.

Well personnaly focused accuracy is a must for me as those pesky SRs' would be hard without it. It's a great power to have. Gives + perception to. I'd recomend it.

As for Conserver Energy i've never realy used it being a Regen and having stamina and quick recovery so can't realy help there i'm afraid.

i use CP against carnie bosses/EB's and AV's of all sizes

I agree with Mr Q there, whilst most of the time a regen doesnt need CP it is handy when fighting them end draining sucka's such as Sappers and carnies.

It also can help in a prolonged fight eg if you ever go wondering in pvp.

Hmm, ok..

slotting wise im looking at 3 recharge in build up, focuse acuracy and conserve power. Is that about right?

I've got 3 slots spare at the moment...

i would put end redux as you are not regen in FA instead. and a toHit buff if you are a regen

Posted

Well i have 3 recharge in build up, 3 recharge in conserve power and 6 in FA. 3 end reductions and 3 to hit buffs.

I find that i can hit 99% of the time this way.

I had spare slots due to dropping Mog so they got spent wisely

FA is a toggle (and really end heavy) so I'd better slot it for ToH buffs and EndRdx instead of rechrdx

Posted

Yer i agree and as i said, 3 Toh so's and 3 end red's in FA will help alot.

lasdt question (hopefully) i know i can do it with trial and error but does anyone know if i can afford to drop the acc in my attacks once i pick up fa or is it worth leaving them?

For PVE, you can drop the second accuracy enhancement no problem and could even possibly make do with no accuracy SOs for most fights. Build Up is not worth slotting for tohit.

For PVP, you'll still want two accuracy enhancements in each of your attacks. Slot Build Up with Tohit if you can spare the slots, it'll considerably increase your burst accuracy helping you hit defense based toons.

As a guideline: with FA 3-slotted for tohit and 2 acc SOs in my attacks I can reliably hit Purple MoG'ed Paragon Protector Bosses in PVE. With one Acc SO in my attacks and a 2-slotted FA, I could hit Rikti drones reliably but still missed the aforementioned MoG'ed PPs a lot. Katana's -def effect helps a little too.

At present my Kat/Regen has 6-slotted FA (3 endred/3tohit), along with 2 acc SOs in SOTW, Flashing Steel and DA. SD and GD each only have one Acc SO but are generally used together with Build Up (3-slotted with recharges) or during an ongoing chain when the enemy is under a few stacked -defense effects.

While where on the subject of tohit, anyone got any numbers on how much the Accolade Geas of the Kind Ones adds? Since it can pierce through Elude very easily.

For PVP, yes. They are toHit buffs btw.

Regarding conserve power an easy answer is, if you have problems with running out of energy alot take it and love it WHEN it is up. Otherwise I wouldn't take it. It is great on toons with hasten as it is up more often and means you can use those hastened attacks and not worry about your energy. (I know this thread is about scrapper epics, but on a similar note, when I have hasten and conserve power up on my peacebringer he deals soooooo much more damage that I wouldn't be without either hasten or conserve power). Slot conserve power 3 recharge.

Regarding your hero planning and updating. If it is the right program try the following, then it should, hopefully update.

Select the following, setup, configuration, auto update. Then make sure the following option is not on, use a proxy server for connection.

Hope that helps.
