Fire/Fire any good for PVP?
I'm not to up on fire/fire myself but i would of thought its main weakness is its lack of a lvl 38 power like unstoppable etc and its resistances altho it does have a good heal.
Defiant's GoEH/MILITIS METUS
I have a fire/fire, and I can say you can PvP but, in order to do so, your build will be very tight.
First of all, you have to fill the gaps that Fiery Aura doesn't cover, so Combat Jumping and Acrobatics are obrigatory. Which means that 99% of the time, a /FA Brute will have Super Jump as his travel Power.
Other gaps, you'll just have to learn how to live with them. No Psi res, no end drain res, no Fear res. You have some Toxic res with Healing Flames.
People complain about the resistance that FA grants, but I see nothing wrong. FA have average numbers, even more than some other sets like Inv, but then again it lacks a tier 9. Well, at least it doesn't have crashes.
Now, if you wanna PvP with /FA, the best choice for your Primary Set is FM/ (which you have ). You have to keep in mind that Fire Brutes are not about standing and absorving Damage. This defensive set is the most offensive. Pick Build Up and Fiery Embrace, and you'll be able to deal a lot of damage, as Fire is not so resisted. But be sure to get Hasten too.
Are they good? They won't be gods in PvP. But then again, no build is, everyone has its flaws. Can you PvP? Certainly. I do it and have lots of fun. But keep this in mind: Fire/Fire are damage dealers! The best ones out there.
Some tips:
- Healing Flames: 3 Healing and 3 Recharge
- Get BU, FE and Hasten
- CJ and Acrobatics, to fill the gaps
- Try to fit in your build Power Pools like Fighting (Tough) or Presence (for Fear).
Having read that last post Id say go /elec. Elec has high energy resists, and a tier 9 shield, still a blaster using defiance can knock 1/2 ur health away with total focus. He will 1 hit u if u dont have a tier 9 shield. TP is king of survival in PvP, being restricted to SJ was always a worry for me on my em/dark stalker since its needed for the same hole in the set.
However if ur not planning to fight mainly in RV (which is where the set is best, considering no inherent +perseption), it might be better picking a different AT for PvP.
Also its a defence based set, which build up/aim negate. One thing looks interesting, entropy shield but I doubt it will take long before u find people will just shoot u instead.
I have the leaping pool & hasten thats just a habbit i do with every attacking based alts.
I was wondering though if the fighting powerpool would help, if so how much, i diddnt relly want to get it mainly because bad end drain with to many sheilds on (even with stamina & end mods slotted)?
Thx Alot.
It's up to you really. I had Tough for some time but respeced it out, but it certainly helped me while I had it and end was not a problem. I prefered the Presence Pool for Fear.

Presence Pool for Fear.

Ahh diddnt think of that *noted*.
tough takes you to inv brutes levels of smash/lethal resistances but does need to be 6 slotted really with 3 res and 3 end reds. The fear pool is situational an dhas a long animation, awesome for dueals though.
