For PvP Purposes, I'd say a pet is actually a bad idea. anyone without tactics or some other +per power can't see you but as soon as they see a pet trailing around, you lose that advantage as they'll either leg it or just pop a yellow!
I love it in RV when stalkers get the heavies as they're pretty much drawing a bullseye on exactly where they are.

probably best idea, i am not taking patrons on any of my stalker/brute builds and only taking on my squishies for the armour.
They were supposed to be better to make up for not being able to change them, I have yet to see any reason why they are even close to the hero epics yet alone better

I'd have to agree as well. I'll be dropping my patron pool at some point and taking Aid Self (why I havent done this already I do not know) and and some more of my primary pool.
EDIT: the fact that the Mu does a diffrent damage type than me can come in handy right enough
i was going to slot it 2acc 2 recharge 2 end mod till i found out he cant be sloted with end mod. this is mostly for PvP
