I tryed and look in forum for any grav/rad build but doesn't seem a popular one or perhaps not worth mentionning it...

However i'd like to know some good builds for it... It is my first troller i'm making and when i play a bit with CoH builder i find myself with not enough slot for enh and endurance problem...

Anyone could post something about Grav/rad ? thanks a lot

Grav/Rad boils down to one sentence:

"Nobody moves and no-one is going to get hurt"

You will not be dealing out huge amount of damages fire/rads do, but at least you and your team-mates will be safe. You have 3 AoE Holds (Real hold, Choking Cloud, EMP), one AoE "Ghetto-Hold" (Immob + Wormhole) and great debuffage at your arsenal, plus basic ST immob and hold. And that's before your pet steps in. And all this without the huge graphical effects of Earth/

Many people go for Lift and Propel to get damage dealt out, but I haven't found either a power I like. Propel has a bit too slow animation time and Lift, compared to all the other stuff you can get, is just a bit ... blah. Oh, and skip Dimension Shift, will ya.

Wormhole, a power which many others hate but I love, combined with a hold that roots and an immob that doesn't, allows you to move your anchor from one group to another with precision and relative ease once you've gotten used to it. Also good with a tactically positioned Singularity to keep things locked in a corridor.

Don't have a full build ready at the moment as I'm re-planning my current one that is quite /rad -heavy at the moment because of the early I7 AVs. Grav/Rad is quite an endurance hog, so going for //Primal for epics isn't that bad an idea, especially if you'll be focusing on control. If you want to go the damage dealing route //Fire is the way to go, naturally.

Thanks for the answer and i think i got the idea I was wondering tho if i put away propel and lift i sure will not be able to solo at all....
That's the only thing that bothering me... Not that i don't like teaming, i like it a lot but sometimes you don't have time to put a team together or you don't want to outlevel particular contact....

Well anyway, thanks a lot and i might try your way wich seems quite interesting nonetheless

I've got a lvl 26 Grav/Rad, and I too was unimpressed with Lift and Propel and so 'specced them out in favour of more Rad stuff... Now, as before, I *can* solo, and very safely, but it really does take ages, because I'm only cycling my hold and 2 immobs to do the damage. So like I said, safe but very, very boring. But with a good team, its an amazingly fun build and much, much faster.

Oh, and slotting is a pain. I found I just had to do the respec and then copy to the test server and try out a couple of different builds on the same mission for comparrison, because its quite subtle so its very much a personal thing.

Except for some small slotting differences (and taking Crushing Field earlier, to use it with Wormhole) Archy is (as always) spot-on.

- Rad Infection: I would add a Def_Debuf and an Endrdx (maybe dropping a recharge from Healing Aura or an Endrdx from SS?)
- Lingering Rad: I'd use a Slow instead of an Endrdx
- EM Pulse: I like to use an Endmod instead of a Hold/Rechg for some nice endurance drain, but in any case, 6-slot it and see.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help both of you, i think at the end that i'll not bother trying to not outlevel contact with this one and i'll make him an only team toon

Archy's build is very good and Okton's additions pretty much cover what I have going on with Jack's future build.

Some retentive fine-tuning that comes to mind:

Slotting Crush earlier and Radiant Aura later will let you put the damage in and make the soloing a bit faster.

Also, slotting Grav Distortion with 3 Recharges, 1 Accuracy and 2 Holds will be enough in almost all situations, as it has an inbuilt Accuracy bonus. You will be running defense debuffs anways, and the extra recharge ups your damage/second a bit again while increasing your control ability as well.

Not really feeling the need to slot Singularity with Immob. When my disco-ball (Has no Immob Enhas in) gets his hands on someone, the target is is held/immobed/tossed around so much it won't have time to move, and Immobed target can fight back, Held one won't. I'd go with 3 Holds or 3 Damages, depending on your prefrence.

These from the "I would like to solo as well sometimes" point of view.

Good points by Alvan. And one small thing which comes to mind: at least for the lower levels, I would actually take Propel. Even though the animation is slow, it does some decent damage and is an endless source of amusement (persistent flying pool tables ftw!!!111!!!). You can always respec out later since it does become less and less useful, especially in teams. Oh, and I'm not sure I would take both SJ and SS (unless you take Stealth?), at least for PvE.

Nice catch. Switching Super Speed for Mutation might not be a bad idea, as in teams people get killed and having an extra resser handy never hurts.
