First stalker ever

Hey all

Just got back to the game - made a transfer from US to EU with my old CoH toons (bye bye 27 mil influence *SOB*)

Just got CoV and am looking to make a ninja stalker.

Can someone give me some pointers - I've been reading alot of builds but they all say they are geared for PvP - which I don't like. Therefore I'd like some advice strictly for PvE'ing.

Do I need haste for instance?

Hope someone can throw me a bone here - see you all in game soon!

hasten and superspeed are a godsend for stalkers, things start to go wrong in a mission and whooosh..... of you go to hide, lose agro and then go back and Assassinate them. Ninja blade/Ninjitsu seems like a fun set, lots of tricks and a self heal which is always a good thing.

PVP stalker builds do just fine in PVE thb, its all about how you play them.

Stamina I would say is a must.

The rest just comes from experience, you are quite squishy untill the later levels so just pretend you are playing a SR scrapper untill SO territory

Well... it depends on what your powersets are and what you want to do with them. Seeing the term "ninja stalker" seems to point to a ninjutsu secondary and perhaps a ninja-to primary (although claws or martial arts would also fit the bill).
Concerning Hasten: If you want to play hit-and-run-style Hasten is hardly needed, but it is always handy if you can fit it into your build. The more scrappier you want to play the more you will miss Hasten if you donĀ“t take it.
And about the ninjutsu secondary: You will find that what is good about this set for PvP is also good for PvE. In my opinion the biggest difference in evaluation for PvP or PvE exists for Caltrops. When you are applying hit-and-run-tactics these will be your friend (and it might happen that you are forced into these tactics somewhere in your teens). Especially before you get Placate those Caltrops can save your hide (no pun intended ), because enemies keep running away from them until they lose aggro. But after getting Placate you might find Caltrops obsolete for most purposes.

If it has
eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

Thx guys

Yea I was thinking ninja blade / ninjitsu for powersets. I have played a katana / regen scrapper on US servers for a while and i seemed to have a steady flow in my attack chain on that guy without hasten - that's why I asked.

I'll take your advice under consideration - thx again

hasten rotates things like placate and build up much better than without, also as I said SS is really great for stalkers in mission and to get that you need either hasten or flurry and flurry is a waste of a power.....

Alright I'm working on a SS ninja now. Was gonna take teleport but I just remembered how much I hated travelling with that power. So hasten it is!
