Had no experience of those 2 powersets but all I can say is watch out when choosing a weapon dependent powerset alongside your primary- you might have to draw your weapon after doing each primary move, which takes up valuable blasting time. Not sure if it kicks in with storm though, havent tested it.
You know I didn't think of that. Looking through the powersets, I quite like the idea of Storm/Electricity, as it fits in well with the whole "Storm and Lightning" kind of theme.
Sonic is an amazing secondary to have with Storm. I recommend getting Shriek, Scream, Dreadful Wail and Screech. 
Thanks Disco, I'm definitely considering Sonic. I do like the idea of simply shouting at enemies and seeing them fall over unconcious :P
Dont let the draw delay stop you, if you really want to go archery blast. It might be a bit of a problem, but when you're having fun what's half a second tops?
Sonic is quite good, was levelling a low level scrapper the other day and teamed with a sonic defender, she was beating me to killing everything. I'd hit a lag spike, and when I came out she'd be a way ahead beating on thugs 
Just whichever you go for, please choose powers from there. Dont give in to pressure to just choose primaries, thats stupid. Would be like asking a scrapper to not choose their secondaries

I'd keep dark, it's quite possibly the set with most synergy with storm. If you have to reroll and pick sonic/archery/elec, hget sonic, since itt has the most synergy of those three.
I went for storm/elec for concept and have been very happy with it although I only took the two ranged blasts and ball lightning. SC is tempting but I rarely switch off hurricane and I think the radius on it is very small?
I have a FF/sonic and ended up respeccing out of the blasts because the sound effects annoyed me and the graphics on them were really.. blah. I then stopped playing him all together because I was just a buffbot and I never had anything to do.
Do ask a sonic to preview the blasts for you. They are really dull to look at and make noises that initially sound freaky and interesting but eventually annoy you.
Finally, as you may have been wondering, the tentacle root in dark does not prevent knockback/up so you can't do the tornado and root trick like a controller.

I've just rejoined the game after 1 year out trying other stuff. I managed to get to 35 before I left with a Storm/Dark defender, but coming back now, I find I'm actually not using my Dark powers enough.
I was thinking of rerolling to Storm/Archery or Storm/Sonic - What are your thoughts on the Archery and Sonic power sets?
