Well well well! Rad/rad is a lot of fun, with every new power bringing something totally new to the way you play.
Must have (in order of total awesomeness): Radiation Infection, Enervating Field, Lingering Radiation, Accelerate Metabolism, Radiant Aura, Cosmic Burst, EMP
The rest is kinda open to debate but if you pick the above and slot them well you'll do good as a defender. The real strength of a rad starts to show when you're fighting particularly hard bad guys, like mobs a way above your level or AVs

I prefer Rad/Elec 
Rad primary basically works like this: In bad team you are "teh suck", in good team you are "teh uber". If you can live through the frustration of the first twenty levels of everyone killing the anchor, you will mature into something truly valuable. Radiation is, IMHO, potentially the most powerful defender set, but the whole team (not just you) has to know how to use it well, and that is not easy.
I chose elec secondary. Why? well partuialy to be different (so many rad/rad out there already), but also because I wasnt that attracted to the secondary effect of radation blast. Most players have enough accuracy to hit enemies without debuffs fairly well, and radiation primary will drop enemies defence significantly. IE with the primary debuff, everyone is hitting highly accurately, and so the additional defence debuff of radiation attacks is rather pointless.
And elec is getting a buff in issue 7 (yeah! scaling end drain )

I'm up for the total awesomeness and how much higher lvls will i be able to take then?
Also i only picked Rad/Rad coz it looks really really nice 
I dont put Radiant Aura on my list of awesomeness, but I'd put Aim in its place............. and move Cosmic Burst up to just behind LR too, you cant say enough good things about that blast. RI, EF, LR........... the three major food groups

Ok this is my first time playing as a Defender, i just really want to know are Rad/Rad powers good? and what powers are best for the Defender?
