PvP Dominator
The changes in Issue 7 so far mean a change in tactics for Doms in PvP, at least for those of us who play them already, but I think almost any combination will work depending on your style of play.
The way the new PvP domination build up works is you get a bonus boost (+8) for every successful attack against a hero player (or opposition player). I definitely was not getting the big boost when I missed or my shots were deflected. Not sure if this is a bug or not, seems a bit daft since it will mean practical zero chance against anyone running high Def, especially something like an SR scrapper. You get the standard +2 domination for any other target, to get +8 you must hit another player.
This might well mean that a quick cycling, high accuracy, long range attack tactic might be a good move for some Doms; equally anyone capable of surviving for a while in melee (like Ice/Ice) should do well. The boost has nothing to do with damage, so it might be worth taking more low power attacks to get a faster buildup.
I can toss ice/ice into the ring based on some experimentation in RV on test today - the test came in 2 parts.
1. A helpful regen scrapper kindly stodd stil and let me wail on him for the 25 seconds it took to build domination from 0 to BOOM! - 25 seconds!
2. A tanker decided to try and gank me while I was sight-seeing - runnin both chilling embrace and artic air, and contantly moving around him, meant the only attacks he could fire at me were hurl boulder - he couldnt get close enough for KN blow, etc, as he was slowed too much (that was fuuuunnnnn ) - eventually he gave up and ran off.
So yeah, once I7 hits live, I expect to be doing better in PvP with wynter
Just have to learn how to not get killed
What's the best kind of build for a Dominator in PvP then? There has to be SOME kind of combo that makes em good.
