Necro/Dark - Hard as nails? (With I7)
You forgot one more thing, the epic shield. Now, if we get that one from ghost widow, that's close to capped negative energy resistance, with full bodyguard, healing and DN. The MM will be next to invincible to anything with negative damage.
...and still pretty darn good versus everything else. I think I'm gunna roll me a /Dark MM sometime... If only the gangwar summons were henchies, then that would really be a big resistance... 87.5% from my calculations if there are 10 from gang war... not too shabby :P Shame they can't be controlled though... =/ So they probably won't benefit, unless they're auto in bodyguard mode.
The only downside is you need to leave your Necro Henches in Fol/Def and as such you won't be able to pilot your Grave Knights and Zombies into melee with goto commands (or Bodyguard drops).
Not as if Dark Miasma needs much more help - it's already seen as FOTM for Masterminds (and rightly so since it has a nice mixed toolbox that people are used to using).
Thing is, with 'resists' like that, you could easily go into melee range safely, letting them attack away 'defencively' against the enemies that inevitably attack.
I will probably do this as a thug/dark MM, just because thugs are going to be new, (And ranged, sticking with me I hope for blasting away) and I'll be able to tank for a 18 man team at some points late in the game Course, only getting bodyguard from 6 of my minions, but it will still be cool. Might leave the Brute off bodyguard though... Plus, I'll get the dual pistols of doom!
Using Necro/Dark and the presence pool the other day I built what I figure would be the best tank ever but then realised I didn't enjoy anking. I do however employ other people to make invincible tanking MM'd they must be damn cool.
what about FF with PFF's 56% res to all .. come to think of it can you put pets into bodyguard mode then use PFF ?

Don't pets need to be within your Inherent Ability area for Bodyguard to Work? PFF suppresses the IA, so I think they don't work together.

i saw some notes that with PFF on you can't command your pets but not sure if bodyguard works after you put PFF on.

You can't, however attack with PFF on, nor gain aggro in any way.
Bodyguard DOES WORK with PFF on !
Just been on test and had a tanker hit me for peanuts and my pets took most of the damage and PFF Res taking the rest away.
/FF gets a break it seems.

Ok, I am saying this from what I gather about the new Bodyguard function for MMs. Necromancy has 7 henchmen, correct? Now, if they are all in bodyguard mode, this means that the damage will be split between you, and them. Two parts on you, and 7 parts between them, meaning that you are taking 2/9ths of the damage you would've taken. This roughly translates to the equivilant of 77% damage not being taken. Not too bad, eh? Now toss Darkest night, from the secondary in. Heck, throw in your shadow fall and it's energy/neg energy/psy resist, may as well put Dark servant in their with all its moves.... and that's not much damage coming into you now, is it? Now consider that your heal does not also heal you for a good amount of points, but it is also healing your seven henchmen for a good amount of points, too. Anyone else think that this is cool, although somewhat overpowering? It will almost feel like your adding their hit point bars to your own, and making your heal many times more effective. Just wanted to know if what I'm considering here is correct, and if anyone else is gunna try it.
