DM/DA Issue 7 Freespec.
I'd put a second end rdx in Acrobatics as its higher end cost than the 3 basic shields.
I'd probably pick up Conserve Power before Focused Acuracy too, but as its a level 50 build that's not really important I guess.
Would get more out of the end reduces putting one in CoD and 1 in Acrobatics than the 3rd in the shields, I think that's all I'd move around. Without Air Sup I wouldn't have an attack chain, but you have rechg in the attacks and hasten so that should even it up
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

do'h, should have known about them shields end cost, just made this one up too quickly i guess :P.
And yeh, i don't think i'll have much problems forming an attack chain, besides smite/maul/mng i also got brawl, and a couple utility powers to fire off. i now have 2 acc 3 dam and 1 end, and hasten, and it works semi-ok. no FA now either, with taking FA, i can swithc an acc for a rech and i think it should all work out fine
i could offcourse always switch CJ for Jump Kick

Yeah, JK, as vile as it is, takes ages so pads out an attack chain..........
A rechg in Shadow Maul makes one hell of a difference, not had them in the other attacks though (and I must remember I have quickness)

as much as it makes an attack chain, it kind of ruins your DPS Which is what DM is all about, most other primairies are about burst damage. DM is to an extend burst damage, but mostly sustained DPS.
btw, does anyone have any info on ST, i just picked it as a final power, because i had nothing else i wanted, is it a 1-slot-wonder, or should i pick something else?

Few things
I'd drop death shroud, by taking this power you are hurting your attack chain and replacing it with something that does [censored] AoE damage and hogs endurance. I'd get rid of it and get laser beam eyes..i'd say you could pick shadow punch, but laser beam eyes does more damage and is ranged. Death shroud is just a strain on your endurance its a waste, no point in taking it.
I'd give oppressive gloom a miss to its not THAT helpful in PvE imo no point useless toggles it hurts your endurance and effectiveness in PvE aswell as PvP.
Take slots out in health, slotting it is a waste. the regen is pathetic. I would pick up hurdle instead mobility is everything.
Stick 2 accuracy in soul drain amd dark consumption. I'd even put 3 acc 3 recharge (i wouldn't be running focussed accuracy 100% of the time) you wan't these to hit all the time even when fighting hi level mobs.
ALso worth recommending tough, the s/l res really does help.
Here is a build i made.

I'm looking at this in a PvP aswell as PvE perspective, with this style of build and carful managment of toggles, you could be very viable in PvP. Even nicely in PvP zones park yourself next to some lowbie foes soul drain them, you have a huge tohit buff and damage buff (greater than build up) and lasts 30seconds, find an enemy and destroy him
Heck even in arena, open the battle with conserve power and fire away
I think that would be an effective build for level 50 PvP and very good in PvE.
Hope that helped somewhat.
hmm, i tend to disagree with you, maybe its because of what groups i fight. usually, i (used to be) am in an 8 man group on invincible or maybe unyielding.
Death Shroud, yes, quite an end cost, but run herostats, it actually does quite nice damage, those ticks tend to rack up very nicely.
Opressive Gloom, it stops the minions from running very nice, so they stay in DS/SD/DR/DC range. The end is quite low, and the hp loss is manageable.
Health Slots, there to counter OGs hp dropping.
Acc in DC/DR/SD, i rarely fight only 1 opponent, and in big groups, with the AoE cap in place, it tends to hit quite enough (4 for DR/DC, and as much as possible for SD). Also, running FA helps this quite a bit aswell.
I've fought with tough (its even in my current build) but all it does to me is suck endurance. DAs has more than enough defenses to holds its own in the set itself (resists and very importantly, dark regeneration).
Also, in PvP, soul drain sucks, i'd rather have a 'real' build-up (for PvP only! in PvE, soul drain is the best you can get) Soul Drain is only better than build-up after 5 or 6 mobs, you hardly fight that much in PvP (well, that they all are close enough to SD off anyway)
As to your closing statement, to be very good in PvE with DA, you need at least OG or CoF imho. OG/CoF beat (for example) Tough in damage mitigation with a huge difference. Also, having DS really helps, those ticks stack up to be quite a portion of your damage.

Nope, i actually retired my katana/da scrapper however i have also been in such teams.

I wouldn't take this because it doesn't do enough damage for my liking aswell as that its DoT, i would rather have another single target attack to chain my other attacks.

[/ QUOTE ] Hp loss is minimal your right it does take minions out of the fight but i'd rather have tough, but thats a PvP thing as i said before. ALso opppresive gloom does disorient the enemies just "wander" about aimlessly.

You don't need them there, i just think it would be better used somwhere else.

[/ QUOTE ] yeah sounds reasonable, howeever I'd micromanage toggles incase i had no buffer for endurance, so i wouldn't be running focussed accuracy all the time. Difference in playstyle.

PvE i guess you could say it can support itself but in PvP it can't without tough, i also suggested this because DA lost a lot of s/l res during ED. tough makes it up, also with slotting it with 3 endurance redux its manageable. Funny how you say it just sucks endurance, i feel the same with death shroud

yeah your right it does suck in comparison to build up in PvP but i thought i'd just mention that little trick when fighting in PvP zones use your resources and its a means to boost damage and get more kills.

you really don't need them to be very good in PvE, being good in PvE is about your primaries and how you use them not your secondaries. Secondaries are to support your primary- scrapping, in your build your sacrificing scrapping attack chains for to much from your secondary thats why i'd suggest dropping certain powers, just so you have an extra attack like laser beam eyes, so you can chain better.
To start off, i made this respec as a level 50 respec, with the only thing we know from issue 7 that affects DM and/or DA in mind, the 'nerf' to tohit debuff enhancements.
So, a couple things to point out.
<ul type="square"> [*]No CoF, as the fear is useless since the acc/fear nerf of i4, and the tohitdebuff isnt that great anymore either. At least not to justify its end cost. the only way i'd take this is with HOs, which i dont have (not that type anyway)[*]Primairily a PvE build, with some PvP possibilities.[*]Mandatory power pools taken offcourse (fitness and leaping, and to some extend speed)[*]Yes, the attack chain is lacking a bit, but i havent found that to be a big problem. [*]Dark Embrace and Murky Cloud both have a Ribosome Exposure HO (EndRed/DamRes)[/list]
So, the build. Been a while since i actively played Shift (doing alts more) So any DM and/or DA scrappers in the house wanting to comment?
