Characters in base raids are now set to an effective level of 50 rather than 40, in preparation for 41-50 villain content

Is this a joke?

Villains have very little chance against heroes in base radis as it is with them having the benefit of their additional 40-50 slots.

Now you're trying to say that any raids my VG has planned against SG's over the next month or so(and that's a conservative I7 release estimate from me) are also going to see the heroes having access to their Epic powers as well?

Why on earth has this been released before the villains can even attempt to reach 50? I just do not understand why this could not wait until I7 and now have at least 4 raids to try and reschedule as a result

Anyone else think this is a completely 'we don't care aboout any raid plans until I7 comes out' move?

I've got two confirmed raids against SG's over the next two weeks and am pretty annoyed about this

Yes and no.

Yes in that it gives us a taste of L50 PvP outside the arena, and it'll make Hero-vs-Hero raids a lot more interesting.

No in that villains, even auto-sk'd to 50, lack the slots and patron powers needed.

Still, I expected this to come in with I7. But, if it's in now, how long away is I7, actually?

Well, from the fact Cuppajo on the US forums said the free 2nd anniversay respec will be given AFTER the anniversay as part of the release of I7, we know that it will not be until the week after the anniversary at the very EARLIEST.

He said they were going to give it on the anniversary but as there are power changes as part of I7, they decided to postpone it to coincide with I7

That puts it into hte second week of May if we're lucky but as it's not even on test yet, my money is on the third or fourth week of May, which is why I said at least a month.

Remember we were also told that I6/CoV would receive extensive EU Beta Testing.

Now, we didn't exactly get that (Hardware problems, if I recall correctly), but we still got I6. Now, I7 there's more of a lax approach as it's not a stand-alone release, but I don't really see them dropping this requirement down too far in advance of I7.

Still, there's always that chance that they're giving us all these I7 changes first, so that the actual 'big patch' is just GFX. Ya know, so we run through all the bugs and cries of DOOOOM before I7.

I'm quite happy with the raid cap, it does make things a little more even, but the lower levels still have the disadvantage of having less powers to use, so there's still a goal to attain. I'm just surprised there aren't two threads hundreds of pages long complaining about the changes to Hurricane and PFF.

I would say that the "we don't care about any raid plans until I7 comes out" move would be the one where base raids don't work any more since this patch. Did I mention that they're not getting fixed until I7 either?

Well on the plus side, it allows for us to host another massive supergroup rumble (as no one will have any instant base raiding plans).

Or if we can get enough people we could start to have/try out some villain pentad fun.
