Mind/Empath Build

Ok, so I've noticed that Mind controllers seem pretty thin on the ground but I've been having a blast playing this character. What advice can people give me on my build as I'm shortly coming up for my level 34 respec and I'd rather plan it right this time around. My current plan is as follows.

Hmm, you seem to have the gist of it but some powers I'd reccomend taking in a different order or slotting differently. Going by the power pools/power choices you have, I'd have my build like this:

Clear Mind is easily one of the best powers in the empathy set, and needs to be taken as early as possible. Your team will love you for it.

You don't need endurance reductions in everything, since you're a /empathy who has RA. Just slap 3 endurance modifications in that and then drop it when your endurance gets low.

Swapped Psychic for Primal Forces. Psychic epic is very good for other controllers, but as a /emp Power Boost is just killer. Doubling the power of your heals/buffs? Yes please.

Don't slot hover for Defence Buffs. It's just not worth it.

If you have to take fly, by all means do so, but I'd reccomend swapping Hover for Regeneration Aura and taking something else at level 49. With 3 heals in it, it's actually better than Instant Healing from the /regeneration scrapper set, and with powerboost it's like having two IHs stacked on you. You're essentially invincible. Coupled with RA, you never run out of end either!

Actually, Regeneration Aura with 3 Heal SOs in it give a regen increase of 975%, compared with slotted IH which gives a boost of 990%. That's using defender numbers, so it'll be 780% for controllers. It's good, but not that good

Hero Builder is wrong then. Powerboost still makes it better

Well if you're talking about other powers, if a regen has slotted Fast Healing, Integration, Health and Instant Healing they can get a regen rate of about 1460%. That's only 100% less than Controllers with Power Boost

Mostly I chose Hover to help with my teleporting, fly was selected at the end because I'd been told Regeneration Aura wasn't all that effective.

With that in mind, chances are Regen Aura will be selected earlier, pushing most powers up.

I think Xanthus is right on the money with the accuracy slots its definately worth having more on the aoe and cone controls and clearmind is prolly adequate 1-2 recharges and 1 end redux for slots elsewhere. The rest i'd say is down to what feels right.

If I may i'd like to mention the mind/ part of your build. It's my first time posting suggestions, so go easy on me.

Generally, I'd say the AoE'a need 2 acc enhans. From playing and from figures, I wouldn't wanna play without. Also, sleep duration enhancements, n the right team they are worth it but I find the normal duration enough for what I need - be it seetting up containment or merely occupying a mob.

Levitate - I have personally gone for damage with this - I find it useful to have an attack. I do find that it hits less often than I might want, maybe I'll go 2 acc if I have the slots.

Dominate - not my slotting, but in terms of the rest of the build it sits well.

TK - that's what I'm missing, recharges.


Terrify - I feel you can eithyer go hold or hurt on this. I'm a cause pain man as the fear effect seems to last long enough for me. I either use it with TD or mass hyp or as a pseudo hold with MC.
