Supergroup details question
Best thing to do is to join the SG and check the members. If you get in and theres nobody on or they aren't in your level range, apologise and say that this isn't the SG for you and leave.
Would defeinitely be useful if you could find this out - similar to the /search or /who commands perhaps. Personally I always politely decline invites unless it's someone I've teamed with a lot, in which case I would know at that point whether it's worth joining them or not.
I don't take any blind invites, and anyone who just approaches me saying "u wnat 2 jion mah sg?" isn't someone I'm going to automatically accept an invite from.
Best thing to do really is to do some teams with a supergroup, get to know the members, and ask questions. There's no obligation to click the "yes" button by any means. I've yet to find one myself, but I know I won't be choosing one that just invites any old spandex-clad person on the street.

Yeah, pretty much exactly what I've done so far (though if your SG officials are rarely if ever on when you are, how else can you do it?)
I don't think bases have helped the situation much - what with SG's getting Prestige for any schmuck who joins, and needing ridiculous amounts of the stuff just to have a desk lamp or whatever - well, it seems to me that some SG's only reason for recruiting people might be to bolster their coffers. The only contact I ever really got from either of my SG's after I joined was when the L50's at the top kept asking me to be in SG mode for Prestige (and very occasionally low level members pestering me for influence) I don't even have CoV and so can't use the base (and to be honest, wouldn't WANT to even if I could) ...well, it does kind of feel like a bit of a one-way door there IMO.
Is there any way to find out any details about the current membership of a Supergroup BEFORE you actually commit to joining?
I've tried a number of SG's with my various alts on Defiant, only to find that once I've joined they've had few (sometimes no) members in or even anywhere near my level range (I generally dislike playing either Exemplared or SK'd)
