Trip mines need to be pretty close to an enemy in order to get triggered off, regardless of where you are. As long as you don't die or leave the map they stay until they eventually explode (they do have a long lifetime, must be those duracell batteries). Best bet is around doorways or anything enclosed.
I'd really reconsider not dropping Ignite, you got web grenade, both are fast recharge so you can effectively "Web grenade, Ignite, change target, repeat".

Ignite is awesome either with web grenade or with when you get it) cryo ray, the more in it the klonger it burns, trap them and then let them burn while you kill loads of other stuff.
In PvP stand on your trops, will help to keep stalkers away from you

If I have the chance to respec, would probably swap Super Jump for Hover/Fly, and drop Ignite in favour of having both Beanbag and Taser (yes, Ignite *can* be fun, but it's trickier to use solo.)
Questions:
- what CAN'T you TP with TP Foe - just Bosses and above or LTs as well?
- what's the "trigger range" for Trip Mines (they don't work if you're too far away when a target steps on them?)
