Best way to find a SG?

Just wondering what people consider the best way to find a supergroup to join.

I've jsut transferred from the US servers and I'm looking to join a supergroup but I started thinking

How many super groups are there on Defiant?
How big are they?
Are they accepting applications?
What are the criteria for a successful applicant?
What sort of SG costume is there?
Do they have / or do they intend building a base?
What rules does the group have?

I know one way is to broadcast repeatedly in-game until you either:

get an invite from a group of muppets who think your annoying tactic is original.
get barred from any potentially decent group.
get put on the ignore list of every decent player out there.

Anyone know where I can find a resource for the information above?

I did have a look at supergroup hub but there are only 4 groups registered there.

Team, team & more teaming imo .

Depends what you want from a group. Now I guess people will hanker after a massive group, just for an uber base & devices.
Personally, always, I look at a supergroup as a bunch of really cool people to team with, have fun & a laugh, & a share a common interest in the way you hope to play the game & the kind of things you want to get out of it.
Our group came about from nothing more than a handful of people that enjoyed playing & teaming together, enjoyed working the content & having a good time, & also had the same ideas about how to act & play ingame, with consideration & respect for other always. We were tiny for ages, but now we're usually full to capacity, & building a nice base & getting devices is a bonus to what have now grown into good friendships.

Meh, sorry, it's a bit of a half baked answer. It must be frustrating sometimes for new players when everyone you see is in a different group & you have no idea about what the group is like & how active it is etc.

I'd suggest teaming, & asking the people you get teaming with regulary about their groups & see how it fits with what you want. Will probably be more rewarding for the longterm than just jumping into a group for the sake of it, but hey, you're always free to leave & jump around eh?

The Mighty Cactus is spot on. Team a lot and find some people who you connect with and ask about a potential SG invite. Most established SGs can be relatively picky about new members (we are ourselves ) But if you get in with a decent crowd just ask and they will check u out and consider you. Defiant got loads of really great SGs and i'm sure you will find one thats the right one for you.
If you by any chance should land in the wrong SG you can always leave and join another one. Hope it helps...'cept its kinda the same halfbaked answer as Sag....but he knows a thing or 2 about it

good luck with the SG hunt

I suggest looking at the supergroup recruitment hub thread located Here
Most of the SG's looking for members have made at least one post there, some more than one as their sg changes. Reading through there for an sg would be my suggestion. Most of those posts have links to the various sg's website homepages (for those who have them). Similarly, some sg'swebsites are listed here on the Fansite Alliance, so that could also be worth looking at.
Hope that helps.

Find a group of people you like, and join theirs, mostly that will happen through teaming, but I supose you could get one through people you get on with well on the forums

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
