PvE stalker

Hi.
I dont have CoV yet but I was in bloody bay a few days ago and it appears to me that the stalker AT is a good option for PvP. Partly cos I was attacked by a few who were difficult to catch, and partly cos i love invisible powers and stealth games (like the thief series, i even have a character like garrett on CoH...ahem). Anywho, how are they in PvE. I've heard people say that once they give away there position they are pretty weak.

well, my stalker can solo Elite bosses far easier than any of my other alts

Soloing with a stalker is easy, teams can become harder as obviously there are more enemies to be aggroed when you use your assassinate strike. Just have to be a little more careful.

There good PvE as well you just need to get used to them there not a stand fight toon there a hit and run toon.

This is true. However, the stalker is no more weak than a blaster or a corruptor.

In teams the trick is to deal damage in bursts and dont stay in combat too long. Kill the few enemies who do see you, then wait til hidden to pounce on the next group.

Stalkers are, imo, the highest damage dealing class in the game and essential to teams.

I think it really depends on how you use your stalker that determines if you deal the critical blow that saves the team or get massacred in the first few seconds.

It's true that when their position is compromised they can be in a very dangerous situation, depending on how you go about it.

I've seen stalkers go in and when the team is about to attack a group, the stalker goes in first and does a strike, well, I'd imagine that stalker wouldn't last very long under normal conditions.

The way I play is wait for the group to become aggroed by a team member, so while the whole group's attention is focused on visible allys, I can get a strike off any enemy and take them out without fear of attracting a lot of attention.

Bit of common sense helps
