I don't suppose...

...There will ever be the option to have two setups for your toons? One for PvE and one for PvP, giving you a choice when you log in. I'd like to respec one or two of my alts for PvP, but don't want to gimp them for PvE.

Oh well... I'll go back to my corner now.

That's be so great, then I could make Chives into an even bigger killing machine.

This'd even make sense in-game for some types of heroes. For those who get their powers through magical spells/technology/robots with modular options/just carrying big guns it'd be easy to rationalise switchable builds as going back to base and putting different items in your generichero utility belt.

"Dang! Forgotten my Stalker-repellent costume... back to base for a quick tights change!"

I disagree. People would abuse it too much.

Besides, a PvP build will always perform well in PvE.

Actually I'd like to point you out to my new thread on the Scrapper forum, while not neccessarily [censored], Chives would indeed be 10 times worse in PvE with that build.

edit: How would it be abused? Make it an automatic switch when you enter and leave a PvP zone.

What about slotting? Would that mean I would need twice as many enhancements for me powers? eeeek! Think of the cost for my dominator!

not as well as a PVE specific build though, I die very quickly on PVE as i dont have my defence boosted as I build my Stalker specifically for PVP, at lvl 26 I have have 4 pool power sets and all of them are needed.

Looking at replies, and fears of abuse, I had actually not even thought of it as a possible "instant" switch.

I envisaged it more of a "going back to base and coming back a bit later" sort of thing. Maybe you could make a choice at logon when you select your Hero/Villain as to which costume/build you want them to enter the game with.

Of course, this means in a dire situation you could log out and come back a little over 30 seconds later with a different build... Which still allows for some abuses.... Maybe adding in restrictions on where you appear ingame after changing it...

In some ways it would suck.

In other ways, if the enhancments were made so you could remove/swap items then it would make much more sense, but only a few enhancements can be removed others such as mutations cannot really be removed at will...
"ooh I'll just un-mutate a second, and then mutate a bit differently".

Though I'd rather see more done to integrate pvp and pve as one game, not seperate them even more.
