Rent?
Rent is due every 2 weeks. As I understand it, rent is a % value of your assets (stuff in base and unspent prestige). Something like 5%. Although we only had to pay 5k for a nine room base.

Okay thanks. Is there any way of knowing the date when the rent is due next and how much it is?
Should be due on 11/22, as for the amount, will depend how much prestige you have raised and how much stuff is in your base.

I know, but my question was, is there a way to see the amount without using a pocket calc?

if you look at the sticky it puts base rent between 1 and 3.5% depending on the amount of prestige you have and the value of your base.
When in base mode, if you look at the room info it tells you the amount of Upkeep it costs to have that room available. - you pay for space and not assets within. - there is no rent on the smaller (free) plot side land. - Only when you upgrade that its goes to rent.

Yup, have looked, all of it was 0 upkeep. yet that 10k rent came from somewhere.
For the record, the base has control room, generator room, workshop room, transport room, basic generator, main-frame, terminal, basic worktable, telepad, mission computer, and a fair bit of deco items..
Used to have one tp beacon, but when I deleted it to change it to another one, we didnt get the prestige back, and when I exited the base I noticed the rent was due-message. Dunno if thats a bug not getting the prestige back from selling the beacon. Or if it will magically reappear like the issue with negative prestige earlier.
The plot is of course the basic small one that everybody starts with.
Quote from the FAQ on rent / bases :
Q11: Isn't that kind of annoying [to have to pay rent in person]?
A11: Yes.
We didn't want to deduct rent automatically, because if your SG went on vacation for a while, it'd slowly drain your coffers.
------
A message came up today saying rent was due on the 3rd dec, I understand it doesn't take the rent automatically but whats the command to pay it please as the FAQ didn't tell you how to pay it ....
Thanks in advance ..
You need to visit the SG registrar (where you created your SG) in order to pay rent - its not automatic unfortunately.

Q7: How does Rent work?
A7: Rent is a regressive "tax" on the total value of assets belonging to your supergroup. Once bases are enabled, your group will face a regular (as of this writing, it's not clear wether it's biweekly or monthly) tax on your assets. This tax must be paid at the same contact you used to register your supergroup. The assets used for calculating this tax include not just what you own in your base, but also "banked" Prestige as well! The tax rate begins at 1%, and increases to a maximum of around 3.5% at a gross amount of Prestige (170million).
Q8: What happens if I don't/can't pay rent on my base?
A8: Some of your functional items will stop working until you cough up the rent. There is no "item decay", so your base will not go away if rent isn't paid. You can even continue crafting and building in your base. It's not clear as of this writing precisely what parts of the base stop working when rent is not paid, but it almost certainly includes all raiding functionality.
Q9: How deep in debt can I get with rent?
A9: Rent is "capped" at one rent cycle. In other words, if you miss a rent bill, you will not continue to get bills. It is not known as of this writing wether rent is recalculated every month (ie, wether, when you have a rent bill due and don't pay it for several months while continuing to earn Prestige, wether the bill will be recalculated to tax that new income).
Q10: How can my SG pay rent?
A10: You pay rent at the same place that you used to register the SG and get the base in the first place. Any member of your SG with sufficient priveledges can pay rent - it doesn't come from their personal assets, but from the SG's Prestige. You must physically meet that contact to pay.
Q11: Isn't that kind of annoying?
A11: Yes.

How can I know how much the base rent is BEFORE it is due? And WHEN is it going to be due? How often does it need to be paid? I just noticed a "your base rent of X was due 11/15 4.09pm" message on SG channel. Yesterday I talked to SG registrar and he just said "your rent is already paid up!". I tried to check the upkeeps in base editor but they came up 0.
Besides, I dont think we had anything else really working in there besides one telepad beacon, and a rent of 10k from an item that costs 10k is a bit harsh in my opinion!
