Actually missions start looping in the firebase and with other PI contacts, you can earn presige heaps by exemplaring and putting on sg colours.
I can't actually see the point or the problem - we have plenty of character slots - and 75 to an SG is massive.
You're not supposed to be able to get a massive fortress suddenly and i very much doubt there will be any changes in the game so that the numbers can be fiddled to such easy prestige farming.
75 to a SG is not massive at all. A core of players can easily go over the 75 limit, as many have, and have had to create other SG's to accomodate the level 50 players. The 'main' SG loses out unless the 50's rejoin this SG. There should be an option to 'affiliate' SG's with each other so Prestige can be shared or all given to one SG.

First of all, I disagree with your calcs. I've brought 100k prestige between late 38th - early 40th lvl so I don't know how you get 500k for 50 lvls. I exepct to bring in another million before I hit 50th.
Secondly there's the opportunity for exemping - which is another good way to earn prestige and if you've made it to 50 you don't need any more xp, so where's the problem - and you get a chance to get those nasty AVs who maybe killed you first time around

hmm well, My caculations were only based on a rough note compared to what we have done so far..10 levels in the 30's gave me only 189k in total!.full SG mode since 16 went live. (unless this was effect by the missing prestige bug) hopefully when I logon later the new patch has boosted our deserved SG prestige a by a few bob or 2
SG collection may look something like this;
1-20 - 100k
21-30 - 200k
31-40 - 500k
41-50 - 1000k
This would involve running influence lean and require support from the more influence rich members of the SG, but I don't see 1.8 million over a career as being too shabby.
The thing I'm finding is the more prestige you chalk up, the more reasonable the prices start to become (in your own mind). 2 and a half weeks work (maybe 25 hours) for one player to buy a workshop doesn't seem too bad.
Then there's all the other stuff you can do when you hit 50. You can exemplar into mission, you could decide to take on sime silly challenges - we want to go to the Giant DE island in PI and clear it out. Don't know if it's doable but I'll bet we rack up huge amounts of prestige finding out - and have a good laugh while we're at it.

Been doing some reading and research, and think the bug has effected me, hence why my figures may fall short, - Im not so worried about the time of things, hence my post was "end game" in a year or 2 years, our base so far is 8 rooms so we have done well in a short space of time. but now we need to upgrade to the bigger room space so we can have a lot more aux connections and control power, and this is where it gets pricey! at 400k for just the upgrade plot, and then 400k for each room - but then thats the fun, the SG work as a whole to gain somthing benificial at the end of the day. but there is a post on the US forums that I came across that would require somthing like 250+ mil to get a complete fortress with max everything,((but that does not include the massive downpayents for rent too) and that is about 200 lvl 50's worth.. but we only have 75 spaces. and 8 slots
The very top lvl base should be reserved for only the most commited of SGs, wouldn't you agree - a task that 3 weeks in looks almost impossible, but may look different in six months time.
But you brought up an important point - the huge costs of the bases are forcing SGs to pull together to earn the prestige to buy the toys.
And surely that's what CoH has always been about - teamwork. The sheer scale of the task at hand demands that SGs work as a team.
Sure, there are people on here unhappy about not being able to have a big base shared just between themselves and a couple of mates, but frankly I've no sympathy. Might as well ask for "advance to next level" button to save all the hassle of going on and fighting mobs.
I agree that there should be more ways of earning prestige - such as purely SG orientated missions or even TFs. All of which may come in time.

Dear Devs
Just had a concern that you or anyone else could enlightin me on, re: the End Game...
I understand that really important items require lots of prestige and thats fine, BUT. as this feature of the game came out this late when a lot of the bigger SGs have already extended there max limit in the SG to 75 people, and half of that is all lvl 50's that are active for PVP or anyother form of playstyle..- Once you hit 50 Missions become rare as you run out of contacts, so thus making it redundant for new missions for earning prestige. - but You want to keep this toon, or other lvl 50 toon(s) as you use them on a regular basis. - all your other slots in COH are taken up with un-removable toons..so even if you lvl from 1 to 50 in that time you will bring in about 500k of prestige (working on estimate only here), so with that in mind, IF you have an empty SG then 75 x 500k = 37.5 mil prestige. and this is still not enough to earn everything for a base (from looking at the figures in the base editor.
Now thats working on a New formed SG from day1 from I6, But what happens now when we already have 30 lvl 50's in the SG, and our SG is already full with our other alts and toons we play, none of us really want to delete anything as we use them all often.
a) - will you ever increase the size of the SG from max number of 75?
b) Will you ever give us more slots so we can create a few more toons?
As it is, so many SG's have spill over collation groups, but as the prestige cannot be shared then that defeats the object of working as a team to gather prestige for the ultimate end game fortress!.
Hope the above makes sence..
any light would be appreciated on "end game" methods.
