Slotting bot powers

Hi,

Just about getting to the stage where I can think about SO's and hence have ED issues to worry about. Up till now my bots have all been slotted with dam/acc enhancers but that will change once I move to SO's

I'm thinking my drones will be 2 dam, 2 acc and 2 knockback enh - anyone think this is a bad idea?

I notice the protector bot can take some interesting enhancers, notably:
Defense buff (presumeably improves it's forcefield)
Disorient duration ([censored]...I've not seen it's attacks ever disorient a foe??)
healing (assume this improves it's heal ray)
to hit debuff (??? never seen it debuff enemies)

So what do you think I should slot my protectors with? I'm probably going to go for 2 dam, 2 acc again but those last 2 I'm unsure on. Could do knockback again but thats pretty boring. Could do defense buff which sounds sensible since it protects everything but itself with them. I don't fancy doing healing since it's a bit dumb about using it's healing ray and I can keep the robots repaired through other means.

It's that disorient and to hit debuff I don't quite get - I've not seen it perform attacks that do either (obviously any way!)

Any thoughts/advice?

Regarding knockback.. i would skip this. Its only the range you knock them back, if they would fall off a ledge that way, your bots run after them and probably agro a new group. Many stick with 3dmg/3acc, i personaly go for 3dmg/2acc and a end-red (casting them drains end :P).

Regarding the protector-bot, the healing is a power he will get with the first upgrade (lvl6) power. Secondairy he gets a stronger laser-shot wich has a quite good knockback chance. Defence is used for his bubbles, since they give defence to all elements.

Disorient is caused by a power he gets when you use the lvl32 upgrade power, so untill then.. no use yet Same for the acc-debuff i asume, i dont see any power yet that has this effect. My protector most probably go 1acc/1dmg/2def/2heal to work like a good supporting bot (great healing). Even if you dont slot your healing, your bots will heal whenever needed.

Hmm, interesting point on the knockback...it's not so much the actual knockback distance that is of interest...and thats all the enhancement is improving isn't it? I thought it might enhance the knockback chance but probably not now that you mention it!

I think I'll 2dam/2acc/2def my protector. it really annoys me that they don't ever seem to actually heal when they need to. Even if you specifically tell the protector bot to go passive he sometimes stands there while a battle drone is dying and doesn't use his healing ray at all.

Will see how effective that upgrade power is when he gets his next bolt on, can always switch in the disorients if it proves useful...

It seems healing has a fairly long recharge for the protector, so if he just healed 1 it takes a while, that case you still got repair as panic button. Later on you will get 2 protectors anyway, compensates it a bit.

Do note the lvl32 upgrade power has a extreme long recharge (6 minute), so dont focus too much on those "upgrade powers".

6 minutes?!? yeech!

Oh well, at least my worry about the time it will take to summon/shield/upgrade all my bots on map switch when I reach higher levels goes away somewhat

Ouch.

Mind you, that should come down to 3 or so when slotted with SO Rechargers. Given that the average instanced mission lasts 20 minutes, you could have the 3 key droids (Assault and ProtBots) up and charged in plenty of time for the big finale.

Now if only there was a /slash command to make a pet use a specific power on cue...so that your Assault bot would always open up with Swarm Missiles and Prot Bots would heal on command.

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
