Energy Aura

What's the general opinion on this set? Was torn betweenit (becuase of the nice end powers) and Nijitsu as they both fitted ewith the concept, but I took energy as it added a new level to the concept, as I already had MA for the ninjay feel. He's was trained to harness the world's energy whilst training as a martial artist ya see and is using it for evil. But I just wanted to know how it really worked. Never played an AT with a melee primary before ya see. I'm a ranged kinda guy but I thought this looked a trifle interesting...

I have Energy Aura for my stalker, i have not had any problems with it in solo or in group, infact solo i nearly never die, and i find myself scrapping alot because they don't seem to be causing me much damage. In groups i do have to do a little running in and out of battle. But energy aura does allow me to stay in the thick of it to make sure i finish of my target (as its my job to kill of bosses and LT's). But i have not played the other secondarys to compare them.

It mostly seems strange to see "energy aura" for stalkers.
The base concept seems... less than stealthy to me.

Dark Armor would have made more sense... except for the... NOISE!

Light is, in essence, energy, if you can deflect energy theres nothing wrong with deflecting light, hence making yourself invisible.

How does the defence it offers compare to the ammount offered by SR and Nijitsu. I guess that's the real question here. So... any ideas?

Cheers for this guys!

It's Energy Aura, not Energy Manipulation... that basically means you emit light... or energy... or whatever. However, you can have your own interpretation.

I didn't make any full tests versus SR or Ninjutsu. But from what I can read:
- EA is defense + endurance
- SR is defense + quickness
- Ninjutsu has many tricks up its sleeve: defense, heal, AoE Placate...

Pick your style.

I got the impression that the toggles are the same amount of defence for each so SR would be

- SR is defence + quickness + passive defence

@Unthing ... Mostly on Union.

Good point. They are all based on defense, but SR has some passive powers.

Energy Aura has a small amount of Energy = Negative passive resistance also.

And although it is hard to tell without thorough testing, it may be possile that EA benefits from buffs such as bubbles more as it uses Damage Typed defence, not positional.

Nope, all +Def powers have been changed so they stack equally with Positional or Typed defense.

I got a lvl 22 stalker with energy aura and have found it nice, but I think I could of got on without (and have done) fine. I only toggle the various shields when I need them. To be honest I haven't found any of them that great, bar the one the helps against holds and sleep, which does help sometimes greatly. I would much rather have one of the other secondaries but energy aura was the theme I wanted for my stalker. And imagine my delight when i found out that when kinetic shield shone, it gave out little rainbow flares
